Firstly, I must say that the morning/check in staff were lovely. Very polite, very friendly. I can not fault them at all.

However, upon checking in, my wife and I were overcome by an extreme smell of an illegal substance that was wofting into our room. It was so bad that we had to leave the hotel for a few hours as me and my wife couldn’t cope with it.I was really shocked by this because firstly it’s not what you’d expect for the Hilton, but also because there were 2-3 cleaners on that floor who seemed to not care. I reported it to the desk, again the person we spoke to was very polite and professional, but instead of offering us to move rooms, they just said they’d see what they can do…. We had a big travel to this hotel so we just wanted a room to relax in, which is of course what we paid for, but instead had yo leave and come back later. Luckily after being out for a few hours, we came back and the smell had gone so we stayed in the room.

Unfortunately, the evening staff were not as kind and friendly. I had to call the desk a couple of times for simple questions such as airport shuttle, breakfast times etc, and the lady could not get me off the phone quick enough. She was short and I just felt like I was in the wrong for asking questions. It was a real shame.

In conclusion, the morning team are well trained and should be praised. However, I would not stay here again based on the intense drug smell, and the unwelcoming vibe from the later team. Sorry to say that I would have rather stayed at any of the other hotels in the area.

A nice and clean hotel just right in front of the river. They let me check in early so I’m really grateful. They were also very accommodating to my requests throughout the stay. Only two misses in the room, no fridge this no mini bar service, queen size bed is a but small for two and cranks every time I turn. The bar is current under renovation and they are left with the restaurant. I had grilled pork belly and it was fantastic. There are literally nothing much around the hotel except it’s near to the eXCel event space. There are one coffee place, one Chinese restaurant and a pub which are about 5-10 minutes away.

Great Location & Rooms

Stayed here recently for the Formula E race at the ExCeL and we weren't disappointed. Situated on the Royal Albert Dock with views across to the airport, the hotel is only a stone throw away from the ExCeL. The rooms are large and comfortable, with tea making facilities, a safe, an iron and board, air conditioning and a TV. The bathroom was sparklingly clean and the room was serviced each day. The staff are very friendly and we were given a warm cookie on arrival. The bar staff remembered us from the previous night and were very efficient delivering our bar meal quickly. The bar meals were delicious. Highly recommended hotel, we had a lovely stay.

I would definitely recommend this hotel! Started off by being really well greeted on our arrival with complimentary drinks and cookies which was a nice touch!

The rooms were a great size and spotless everywhere and came with bottles of water and everything we needed for a nice stay.

Breakfast was a bit overpriced for what we got. A good selection but not the best cooked breakfast. The staff were faultless though and accommodated to our every need.

Would definitely recommend

Very nice hotel, friendly staff, good views, good transport links etc.
Unfortunately the breakfast experience wasn’t quite as good. We stayed two nights and on both mornings the hot food was cold. At nearly £18 per person per day I would suggest going elsewhere for breakfast. I would definitely stay here again but not have the breakfast.

We stayed here for the ABBA Arena, as it was an easy taxi ride there and a much better area to stay in. The DLR station into the centre of London is a 4 minute walk from the hotel. The room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast was very good and the staff were all friendly. We found the price to be very reasonable and we even got a room upgrade on arrival!

A good hotel, but not great. The food was very good, especially the breakfast.
For what I paid, I’d probably try elsewhere next time.
The place just felt a bit tired, fire extinguishers not mounted to walls, signs on the floor instead of on the wall, radiators not mounted.

I was meeting a friend for an early morning catch up at a time when the more usual places weren't open. They allowed a walk-in for coffee (we had to pay on entry for it) and then decided to have breakfast, which we paid for as we left. The breakfast offerings were good, well made and plenty of options were available. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. I wouldn't say it was the best value for money but it's a handy location for a meeting if you need somewhere within walking distance of City Airport.
