We booked this venue for a dinner dance event and also stayed over. From start to finish the staff were amazing. They were extremely helpful and flexible with our requirements. We used the D. J recommended by the hotel and the event ran so smoothly it was a pleasure to organise. The meal we had was superb and the service was too. Our room was comfortable and clean, and breakfast was great. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I went to this hotel to meet a family of refugees and to take them out. What a lovely family. The security gents were very efficient. The gent that came to the door asked if the family were OK with that. I thougt that was excellent. The family and I did go out to a local park

I have been looking to book a room, yet I can't find any recent reviews. Has anyone stayed there recently?

Not impressed. On entering our room we were quite shocked at how cold it was, and even after putting on the one single radiator the room was still cold so we had to ask for extra blankets or a heater. As we were three adults staying in a family room we had a double bed and a single bed which we decided to push together. Oh my god the mess we found was unbelievable! A dirty sock, food, and all sorts of rubbish and dirt. On one of the seats in the hotel there was also a dead spider. Also there were very little amenities in the room so we had to keep asking for more. The only positive thing I have to say about this hotel was the one male staff member who was working was very attentive and helpful. But would definitely not stay at this hotel again! Beds were uncomfortable and the pillows were terrible. Worst nights sleep I've had in a while. Would never recommend here to anyone.

Tired hotel, needs updating. Staff absolutely lovely. Breakfast good, except coffee which was bitter and I cannot get rid of the taste. Evening meal awful, we were part of a group , so no doubt a negotiated deal. Wine selection poor. No lifts, hence lower stars. They said someone would be at stairs to help and it was not the case. Would not stay again

My son booked this for our wedding anniversary. There were no leisure facilities open, it would have been nice to have been pre informed that it was card payment only, no cash. The room was tiny and only suitable for single occupancy and so warm it was stifling and to open the window we had to endure the air con units, birdsong at 3.45 am as well as the motorway noise. room 213. The main restaurant was closed with only a bar menu. The only upside is that the staff were friendly enough and the breakfast was passable. My wife and I agreed that this was probably the worst night's sleep we have had staying at a hotel. This hotel primarily caters for weddings, conferences and people travelling for work with expense accounts and obviously doesn't put too much emphasis and care on the Groupon stayers. We may return if the leisure facilities reopen and the room we get is suitable for 2 people.

Didn't feel safe in terms of covid. Not a single member of staff wearing masks. Very disappointed as signs up around the hotel mentioned this and maintaining social distancing. Breakfast was not amazing. Staff are friendly and the hotel was flexible with our booking which we appreciated but we would not stay here again. Management should be ensuring that guests feel safe and part of that is having staff wearing masks.
