Stayed here for 2 nights on a golf break in July (2022). Staff were very friendly and helpful and always willing to help. Rooms were fantastic, decent size, very clean and nice air conditioning. Evening meals were very good and reasonably priced, but I didn't think the breakfast was as good as it could have been. A good selection of cooked and continental but the sausages, bacon and tomatoes were very dried and felt/tasted like they had been kept warm for quite a while.
The golf course was also excellent. A nice layout, with tees fairways and greens in good condition. It's not a long course and you won't need a driver on many holes but you do need to think about shot positioning and where you want to land. Rough was testing but not so bad you couldn't find the ball or play it (most of the time). Only complaint was the bunkers are very poor, many have almost no sand in them and are solid. Also, the 17th hole feels a bit like an afterthought and is the least interesting on the course. Everything else was great and I would certainly recommend and go back again.

Excellent quiet location, even if you don't like golf or horse racing, plus very friendly and helpful staff and easy parking. The restaurant has a good menu including a Rare steak actually cooked Rare which is rare. Always look forward to staying here

Staff friendly and helpful. rooms comfortable. But !
1. decor looks tired.
2. coffee machines broken in golfers lounge
3. shower cable been faulty for some time.reported it.
4. only 2 tissues in the toilet box.
5. no breakfast baps and hot drink options brought out for early golfers.
6. golfers L1 lounge closed in afternoon and no option for food snacks apart from nuts and crisps. poor guy had to run up and down bringing drinks and snacks from the ground floor. golfers want something more substantial after playing 18 holes.
7. Evening meal very late due to wedding party.
8. evening meal was basic and of a poor standard. steak was cold and full of gristle. mushrooms were flat and lifeless. Eton mess strawberries were bitter. asked for drink. Had to ask twice.
9. landscape your patio areas with nicer patio furniture to encourage people to sit out in the evening. not cheap metal furniture for heavy pub drinkers.

Marriot send one of your senior managers to a successful and busy golf club that has a nice restaurant and look at the footfall and learn some lessons.

your business must continue to innovate. adapt and understand their customers and improve your staff support.

Room felt tired.
The iron board collapsed, something sprang of it, leaving it collapsing to the floor in mid use.
The iron needed a clean and the room key stuck in the card holder inside the room.

Paper cups were supplied in the room ??

Breakfast was nice and the staff were helpful although the queue was growing all the time, waiting for tables to clear.

Was it worth the money?
It was our second choice hotel, we was further away and it was cheaper, i just wish our first choice wasn't fully booked.

Spent one night/2 days here in a golf trip.
The Golf course is reasonable. Very tricky, tree lined course, but generally enjoyable.
The hotel is excellent. Service is absolutely first class. Rooms are very clean, well equipped and spacious. Food is good. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

We have stayed at this hotel twice in last month due to working that way. On first occasion we have found lots of rubbish, food and even someone’s bank card under the bed when we moved the bed to the wall for our daughter to not fall off it. The manager dealt with it swiftly and we have been offered free drink. We have stayed again this weekend. The room was dirty, stains and splats everywhere, even the coffee cups were not washed and had stains, the room was very dusty. The bathroom door was so squeaky that we couldn’t close them to not wake up our daughter, the fridge did not work and we had to throw all our food away, and the food we ordered to the room was burn and smelled of being burnt. We even search around the room what is burning until we realised the smell is coming from the burger. We have not been asked how was our stay when checking out at all, just unfriendly receptionist handing us a bill. We have complained.
For such a nice hotel on the outside and website, the rooms and standards really lets it down. Very outdated, and they really need to sort out their cleaning staff. We will not be staying again. It is not cheap to stay in this hotel so you would expect some sort of good standard. The only positive I can mention is the swimming pool.

Stayed for a birthday treat after a day racing. They upgraded us to a room with a view of the racecourse. Lovely evening meal, breakfast ok (standard buffet), bedroom nice but had to report no hair dryer, no shower gel and the light above the tea/coffee area not working and hanging out of the ceiling!

Have stayed here a few times now in a corner suite and a superior room with balcony, views to race and golf course are amazing, beds are comfy.
Bathrooms supplied with towels, shower gel etc.
Mini fridge, kettle tea and milk in the room, ice bucket if needed to fill up a machine on every level.

Pool is lovely, sauna is nice.
Staff are really friendly and welcoming and nothings to much trouble.

Only downfall in the 4 times ive come the hot tub is never working.
