The staff were lovely but the room was very hot, had mould growing all around the windows (terrible smell) and no air con - the only wat to get any air was via a fan that was covered in dust! Terrible night with no sleep, but Premier Inn refused to give me a refund on their "Good Night's Sleep Guarantee" (after keeping me on hold for 20 minutes) as apparently it does not apply to any of their hotels without air con. I usually love a Premier Inn but will defintiely not be staying here again

This is the worst Premier Inn we have ever stayed at. The stairs are so narrow you can hardly get a suitcase up them. The shower is over the bath which didn’t drain. The window was open as it was so hot and stuffy but the outside was covered in cobwebs and green mould. Yes it was the usual comfy bed but that is about all I can say positive. If this was the first Premier Inn I had stayed in I wouldn’t go to any others! As for the Brewers Fayre next door 🙈.

Stopped here on the way to Gatwick Airport to fly to Rome. Rooms extremely hot, NO AIR CONDITIONING, one weak, dusty fan. Mosquito squashed on the wall of our room. Bathroom was surprisingly clean and okay which bumped the rooms rating to 2 stars. We asked for another fan and they told us one fan per room only, despite the hotel being near to empty meaning they could've easily brought us a second fan from another room. Staff were careless, there was a half drunk glass of coke sitting on the floor outside the front entrance which members of staff walked past numerous times - careless and disgusting. Will not be returning.

DON’T STAY IN SUMMER. I stayed in August just after the heatwave. The room was unbearably hot. I got no sleep during my stay as it was so uncomfortable. There was a fan but it didn’t help. The window only opened a crack. Elderly, unwell people or small children would be in danger of heatstroke.

Warm welcome.
Hotel smelled damp.
No air-conditioning in room.
Mattress was very uncomfortable.
Sheet even had a hole in it.
Then to top it all the manageress in the restaurant was extmely ride and very loud. She needs to learn some people skills.

Due to long journey from Mansfield turned up after 10 with 2 children under 10. Whilst checking in no one advised booking breakfast which normally does happen unless you check in at self service. Anyway. Had an early start next morning turned up for breakfast at 0745 to be told we had to wait until 0900 for breakfast which would have made us late for our engagement. Was told it would be too busy to serve. Just walked past 0845 and hardly anyone in. We would not have been long either. This is despite having 2 young children. I have stayed at 2 premier inns in last month. Twickenham last weekend and that was busy and they still allowed us to have breakfast early in morning no issue. So they excuse was an absolute farce. Would never stay there again I would advise avoiding and going anywhere else. Especially with 2 young children Worst service ever!!!!!!

We had room 16. Found-in the bathroom-water leaking from underneath the WC pedestal with the inevitable whiff. The bath was covered in the previous occupant's black hair - likewise one of the bed's pillows. The bath's soap dispenser was empty. And to top it off, the heavy curtains had several hooks off the curtain rail. The "tea station" had not been recharged with either tea, coffee & sugar.

Fortunately there were spare pillows in the bedroom, so we just swopped out the one adorned with a previous occupant's hair.

Despite the hotel's excellent location on the busy A217 dual carriageway (M25 4 miles, Gatwick 11 miles; Epsom Downs, Sutton, Boxhill all near; Chessington World of Adventures not far either), the room was very quiet and comfortable. The staff in the co-located Brewers Fayre restaurant seemed very rushed, but actually gave good service (particularly "Jan") in the circumstances. Some of the chairs in the restaurant had their covers well split - would have been risky for those wearing fragile fabrics.

All in all NOT up to Premier Inn' usual high standard - particularly in Room 16.

I was disappointed that there was no lift, as women travelling alone are always put on the top floor for some reason. My room was also the first one from the stairs. Fortunately I was only disturbed but one group of people shouting along the corridor.
My main complaint, though, was the freezing cold water coming from the shower. When I mentioned this to the receptionist as I left, she told me I should have informed reception. When I said I'm not sure how when I was in the shower, she just said "oh".
