The Castle Hotel

Excellent room, very clean, comfortable bed and large bathroom. Adam on the bar was very knowledgeable and friendly, skilled at cocktails and an excellent gin and tonic, David in the restaurant couldn't do enough for us, very attentive and professional. Fantastic food aswell. Lovely reception staff, a very warm welcome and a safe journey home.

Stayed here for the first of four nights away.
Room was spacious and clean but the bath robes looked and felt old.
The staff were very friendly and efficient.
The food was very good and the parmesan truffle fries are probably the best chips I've ever eaten 😋

Really lovely and helpful staff. Room's are a little tired, but comfortable. Breakfast is very good. Probably won't have an evening meal again, service was very slow and quality not what we expected.

I haven’t enjoyed staying in a hotel for a long time until I stayed here. The rooms felt decadent and the walls nice and thick (the dream). The bed was comfortable and it was lovely and clean. All the staff were so friendly and very helpful, even providing me with some safety pins for my dress! Breakfast was great and centrally located in Taunton. What more could you ask for?

Beautifully clean and serviced rooms. Helpful, friendly staff. Quiet although a little noisy on Saturday evening due to a local bar. Will definitely come here again.

Celebrated my birthday in the penthouse suite. Atmosphere excellent. Food excellent. Service excellent. Great wine selection presented by a very knowledgeable sommelier. All my guests commented on a wonderful evening.

Stayed during the week for a night and it was so nice. Staff where friendly and the room was so nice. Breakfast was lovely. The only downside was that our room was cold first thing in the morning.

This review is solely on the service from the front desk that is almost totally obscured by an enormous Christmas tree, (albeit a beautiful one). Used this car park twice now, and trying to get your ticket validated for exit is almost the worst experience ever. Slow and inefficient staff with no regard for waiting customers. Today for example, one gentleman waiting to check in with his wife, another man with a delivery, my friend and I waiting and waiting and waiting for the car park ticket to be sorted, two ladies behind the counter, one folding paper for another lady waiting at the request of her colleague , and then leaves the desk with a queue mounting. I dread to think what the hotel service is like if you were staying here overnight. Very very poor experience twice now 🙈 Park in Tescos’ less painful..
