Nelson and Railway

A great traditional pub/B&B. The room was very comfortable and has everything you need. The stand out though was the service especially the chef who does the breakfast in the morning. He goes above and beyond. I asked for tap water instead of morning tea or coffee and he gave me two bottles of water.

I would definitely recommend a stay

Called in for something to eat. Lovely greeting from the bar and were asked if we were dining whilst deciding where to sit. Looked at the menu and also the specials board. Everything from snack to all day brunch and main meals, along with chefs specials on the board.
My friend had the all day brunch and was asked if he'd prefer toast or fried bread with it. He decided on toast. I fancied the cheese and onion toastie with salad and coleslaw. The food came along and looked beautiful. Eating it was a pleasure as it tasted as good as it looked. Everything freshly done to order. We were asked if we required anything over and above the well stocked condiments selection.
We both were highly delighted and thanked the lady who cleared our table once we'd both finished

What a lovely homely place to stay. The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond for us, and we cannot say thankyou enough for going to buy the fan for us! Breakfast was lovely. We highly recommend .

Nelson and railway is a lovely place to stay, there for family wedding. The pub/B&B is clean and has a cozy feel with a great breakfast in the morning. Didn't use the bar but it looked well stocked with a good choice of beers. Location Only scored two because didn't see any of the area.

The room overall was fine, the bedroom itself was spacious and well presented. The bathroom was OK, there was a lingering smell that didn't smell right and the room itself could do with a refurb

Stopped at this fantastic little pub Saturday night...the cosy atmosphere and friendliness of the staff and customers was refreshing. The food was excellent just proper food not mass produced chain stuff. The room was huge and comfortable, also it was very clean. In the morning the breakfast was great and lovely start to the day....
