Holiday Inn South Normanton M1, JCT.28, an IHG Hotel

Great hotel, been using this one on and off for years to see family, really good location too. Staff were very friendly and helpful as well as being great with the kids. Super clean rooms and facilities Inc pool etc although changing rooms could do with a spruce up. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice too, highly recommended if your up that way!

Stayed for one night for a wedding what a lovely hotel very welcoming, staff were friendly nothing was too much trouble. Bed were comfortable rooms clean. Breakfast was fantastic children lovely the pancake machine. There were even a,few toys for the children. Wish we had stayed another night as we never got to see the swimming pool etc. I would definitely recommend this venue for a wedding or even just to stay over very nice 5 starx

As soon as we arrived we were made welcome, and the reception staff were friendly and helpful.

On request at the desk, we were re-allocated a ground floor room, so that we didn't have to lug our overnight bags up and down the stairs.

Breakfast was comprehensive, with a plentiful selection of cooked and continental items.

The coffee was a little cool as it was not direct from a machine but from a jug, and if there was hot milk, I didn't find it, but nor did I ask.

A nice break, with everything laid on.

Everything was as expected. Friendly and helpful staff. Food was better than expected judging from stays in similar hotels. Facilities and equipment up to standard. Perfectly located for Derbyshire countryside and M1 next door. Double glazing masked motorway noise adequately.

Having personally phoned the hotel to ask about accessible rooms,and informing the receptionist that I would be using my disability scooter she said that was fine but the accessible room I stayed in, the door was just the normal width which caused me to have to really struggle to enter the room. Also I can't understand why they wouldn't put accessible rooms near reception to make it easier for disabled people. Plus there's no lowered kerb outside the front door which in this day and age really isn't acceptable.

Stayed one night as had events to attend in Mansfield one day and Sheffield the next and this was a great location for both from where I live in Staffordshire. Nice room although mattress harder than we are used too. Decent breakfast with friendly staff. The only negative is that the sauna wasn’t very hot and the changing room was freezing cold

We prefer staying at this hotel when in the area as opposed to others. We love using the pool with our daughter and think it’s great that it’s included but feel the changing rooms need updating. We had a damaged mattress but didn’t alert staff at the time as we had a sleeping baby and didn’t want to move rooms but informed them on departure. Breakfast was nice but wasn’t many options for allergies.

Had a great time despite it was just a stop over. Check in was nice and smooth. Got to the room and the room was nice and clean, only down side was the toilets were rather low. The shower was really relaxing with adjustable shower head. Really really good breakfast. Husband works nights so wasn't able to sleep much. As a IHG member depending on availability u can get a later check out. Dayna at reception was great and was able to do this. Didn't get a chance to pop to the pool but overall a great stay and we'll definitely be putting this hotel as our preference whenever we're in the area.
