The Lawrence

We booked at the last minute as an alternative to camping in the pouring rain on the way back from our holidays. And what a fantastic treat awaited us! The owner was so helpful in accommodating our trailer in the small car park (nb plenty of free on-street parking nearby). On arrival we discovered we’d been upgraded to their suite and what luxury - huge comfortable bed, great shower and roll top bath, lovely toiletries, lots of books, they seem to have thought of everything. Welcoming, friendly staff and a delicious breakfast. A real gem of a place, we thoroughly recommend staying here.

Stayed here for a birthday getaway. Alison was lovely on checking in and made us feel more than welcome. The room was lovely and very spacious and we really liked the bathroom. Great tiles and rainforest shower. Good snack and go breakfast available and there are fans and ice machines if needed. Really glad we stayed here, and being able to bring the dog, made it even better. Thank you.

Just to thank Mike and all your staff. For an amazing wedding for Nicola and Tom. You done them proud from start to finish. Food rooms hotel perfect. You are a fantastic host and would recommend the Lawrence for anyone planning a wedding if you want a perfect stunning day. ❤️

Within seconds of meeting the host he made me feel more than welcome, stunning decor inside like something out of a Potter novel except with more mirrors 🤣 after a very brief discussion he allowed me to change my room for the night which was very generous upgrade and was the cherry on the cake for me. I will be telling all I know this is where they should stay.

The hotel interior is tasteful and welcoming. Rooms are well appointed, with lovely fluffy towels, generous tea making facilities and very informative guest information booklets. The staff were lovely and helpful and the free 'grab and go' breakfast is such a good idea! Would definitely recommend.

What an unbelievable experience staying here. We stayed for the night and the service was amazing. They made a little goody bag for our dog.

The roast dinner was very tasty and hit the spot! The waiter was really nice and profressional.

We woke up after a great sleep and came down for breakfast. The breakfast was tasty too! Great french press coffee

Overall, if I could give this place a 6/5 stars I would. Would highly recommend coming here and will be suggesting this for our friends for a little weekend getaway

Great stay, staff very friendly and professional. Rooms where great and bed super comfy. The room could do with curtains though,the blind didnt keep the light out, so we where awake as soon as it came daylight.
We also stayed for Sunday lunch which was lovely and i would definitely recommend to family/friends

I've stayed here a few times on business and for pleasure. Never disappointed the staff is lovely, and the rooms are cosy,comfortable and warm.
I will definitely be back.
Dog friendly place. Highly recommend.
