The Elms Hotel

My first time back here for many years, so I assume its under new ownership. It took a while to get our food... but it did seem to be freshly cooked and was good value for money. We all enjoyed the lunch menu at around £10 per person.

The one positive is that the staff are lovely.
The food I would say is overpriced for the quantity and quality that you receive and it takes about an hour sometimes longer to get it. There is one small ramp into the main entrance but apart from that there's no support for anyone who is disabled - no elevators, the stairs are steep and old and feel like you're going to fall through them especially in "The Stables". The rooms in the stables are dirty., with years worth of dust in the light fixtures. The shower/bath area was dirty so I didn't want to use it but did on one day as was necessary. The windows were broken in the room. The floors were creaky and every time I walked it was so loud. The flooring was so loud in the entire part of the hotel so I could hear anyone coming in and up to their rooms the walls were thing so I could hear anyone in their rooms. As stated first the staff were nice but the hotel needs some serious cleaning and bringing up to standard and overall I would not stay here again.

Absolutely amazing service received for my dads retirement party. The 2 course meal for for 42 people 4 choices of mains was lovely hot. The homemade pie especially and fresh vegetables were superb. Lots of fantastic comments from all. Puddings were enjoyed. Fantastic service of all at the Elms. Defo recommended and nice to have a venue in Retford offering this level of service.

Due to unfortunate circumstances we was put up in the Elms Hotel for 9 days. Although it wasn’t ideal all the staff there were lovely and have been so kind to us.

Food has been lovely every night, hot, fast service and they couldn’t have been nicer to us.

Room was clean and cleaned for us everyday of us staying there.

Where do I start. The entertainment within the function room, the sociability within the bar and outer grounds is, as it should have been long ago. I’ve sampled the food in the restaurant and at the bar, each time I’ve been impressed with the quality. The owners and staff are so pleasant , I will definitely keep returning.

Love going to The Elms always first class service. Staff so friendly and helpful nothing to much trouble.
The food is tasty, fresh and made to order. The Indian restaurant is lush but I have to say my favourite is their Sunday lunches even do a delivery service.
I have been over the Christmas period with friends to a couple of theme nights in the function room the atmosphere, the food and the staff all made it such good nights .💃🕺🥂
I'm looking forward to visiting again.

The owners of the hotel are really nice and cater to the customers. Their Indian food is simply delicious coupled with the fact that they have a curated Indian restaurant just for Indian food.

The staff are also very helpful. A family owned business winning the hearts of the town people. Enjoyed my stay here

Fantastic staff great atmosphere. We spend new years eve here and the food was amazing. The staff went above and beyond to make it a wonderful night for us all. I'd highly recommend stopping by and having a meal or even a few drinks.
