Great views over robin hood bay. Lush countryside in every other direction. The rooms are due refurbishment but the staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Continental and English breakfasts were available and they didn't run out or dry out. The staff kept everything topped up nicely.
They were about to fit EV charging to 4 spaces, which will be welcome. It's a bit of a drive to the nearest charger.

Nice place. Incredible views indoors and out. Adorable staff, especially in the restaurant. We went on that sweltering hot day. Their air con was struggling in some areas. It's an old building and we just aren't geared up for these temperatures. Walking past the kitchen you felt ridiculous heat coming out. The staff looked half boiled but determined to keep going with warmth and as much enthusiasm as they could muster. Bless them. They couldn't have been nicer. I dread to think how the chefs were coping. I think the menu was all a bit unexciting and stodgy for summer. Food was okay, probably really nice but so much fried food. I'd expected it to be a bit more imaginative. It all seemed a bit chip heavy. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I was just too hot but the menu was all fish and chips and burger and chips as I remember. I thought it would be a bit more "classy." We struggled coz we really wanted lighter, fresher summer food. I think portions were generous. They forgot a side portion of something, so brought us double the portion and maybe didn't charge us. Check the menu, maybe I'm wrong or all anyone wants is that sort of comfort food, and it was me. I'd love to go back, on a cooler summer's day, sit on a bench in the garden, sip a shandy or glass of wine and have a prawn cocktail followed by a crab salad. Happy days.

Didn't stay, so can only comment on food and service. Both excellent. Lovely friendly staff nothing to much trouble. We had afternoon tea,It was excellent. The views are amazing. Couldn't fault anything. Definitely 5 stars

The most wonderful location as the views are stunning but the rooms need updating, plumbing was very noisy and the taps so loose in sink I thought they were going to drop off, also no windows to open in our room. Attended a wedding which was wonderfully organised and catered for. Staff were lovely and very attentive. The food was excellent but bar menu choices very limited. Disappointed to see that even with a discount on rooms for the wedding party I was actually charged more than the rates advertised on their website for the dates and room types we stayed in. I paid for 4 rooms and the cost was hefty enough so feel a little bit let down. If I chose to visit again would stay in one of the loft room suites which are beautiful. ultra modern and not that much more expensive.

Had lunch there. Very friendly and helpful staff. Kids loved the brisket burgers and we enjoyed a selection of starters and sandwiches. Amazing views across to Robin Hood's Bay. Good value. Well worth a visit after a walk down the old railway line and then back along the coastal walk.

Old World Splendour! Beautiful, spectacular! The best weekend getaway. This was the perfect location for us as runners and nature lovers, participating in the York Moors Marathon on 8 October 2022. Breathtaking vistas over the bay and sea from the dining room and our shared room. All our meals were of the highest standard. Thank you for an unforgettable visit!

Absolutely fantastic place if you’re looking for your wedding venue, attentive staff from start to finish, accommodated for all our needs and requirements, nothing felt like too much trouble.

My sons wedding. The rooms could be tweaked for such a lovely venue. The food was of an excellent standard and the service. Views and location can't be faulted. Reception desk can be lax in relation to clients requests. Ben the events manager was very competent and pleasant.
