Booked for two nights, ended up staying for three. It's a lovely, traditional, hotel that's just up the road from the canal. The room was spotless and quiet and the food was fantastic - I highly recommend eating here and if you like cheese, definitely have the cheese board. Chris is a great host and it's such a friendly environment, a lot of the guests are regulars and really easy to talk to. It made my stay in this lovely place all the better and I can't recommend it enough.

Our stay at this very cute hotel was a month ago, and it was great, even in this crazy times. We did a round trip and so the booking was very spontaneous. I booked directly via telephone and only that call was very cordial only the welcoming was even better. We got tea for welcoming and I never had a better stay at a hotel! If we ever come again to Scotland we will book again there! So I only can recommend this hotel! Book it directly and make your own experience! You won't regret it! Many greetings from Bavaria 😊

A serious old style hotel with two superb hosts. Chris really looked after us and not only did we have a great chat but the service left nothing out. Johanna who did the cooking produced the best Salmon that I have ever eaten. The room was spotlessly clean and roomy. Once again I could easily go back for a stay. Barry and the Dragon Roper.

This was an excellent small hotel and Chris and Johanna were delightful hosts. The food was excellent and the game of dominoes with Chris at the bar and chat with other patrons was entertaining. If I could suggest one small thing it would be a sign directing motorcyclists to the other entrance which is not stones as I took a minor spill on the stones in a rut in the driveway. No harm done and highly recommend this lovely hotel.

Amazing and warm house to stay in a cold and beautiful town. The guest Chris and his wife are so nice and friendly. We had a drink and a chat together in their bar.
I highly recommend this place!

The service and staff were very nice and friendly. The hotel was clean but a little dated. Would be better if it had a bit of TLC to bring it up to date.
Can't fault the breakfast and the poached egg was done to perfection 👌 lots of breakfast menu choices and copious amounts of coffee 😋 overall a pleasant stay and the views from the hotel are beautiful.

I booked myself in here as a reward half way through the Great Glen. I arrived early for my check in but was checked in anyway and the owner welcomed me with a complimentary bottle of beer on arrival.

Unfortunately I fell sick had to end my trek here. The owners could not have been more accommodating, they allowed me to stay past my check out in the lounge untill i got picked up and offered me a new glass of water every time my glass was empty. They even lit the fire in summer for me. Cannot fault the hospitality at all.

The hotel boasts a drying room where I could hang my wet kit and allows it to drip dry overnight. If you are a walker, cyclist or a camper this is the place you want to go for that rest point.

I didn't eat there so cannot comment on the food but the service alone merits 5 stars
