My wife and I had taken our time to leave a review as it was important we digested the experience to merit this review.
01/06/22 My wife booked a room at the cost of £155 including breakfast and overall was the room itself was well presented spacious, I was somewhat disappointed with the dust around the bathroom sink mirror, the bathroom air vent and also around the bed frame. whilst that was not the issue in the grand scheme of things as we were only staying there for one night. What was a great disappointment an absolute NO NO to never return here again was the arrogance and attitude given by Kevin who I now understand to be a Co owner who was also the person taking our order for the evening meal.
The food was poorly presented and tasted bland, and certainly not any kind of comparison to other dishes of the same that we have ordered in several locations across the country. My wife ate less than 50% and decided to stop. I ordered the steak and ale pie, the pie was ok, it seemed there was a lot of thick pastry and very little steak within the pie.
Kevin arrived to take our plates and noticed with the amount of food left on my wife’s plate and commented that she didn’t enjoy this either with a tone of question.
My wife responded in kind that it was not what she expected in comparison to previous experiences in other restaurants and it tasted a little bland. With a tone of assertiveness and an undertone of intimidation whilst standing directly next to our eating table giving Kevin an elevator position of stance, Kevin's immediate defensive response was that it has five nuts in there and all the ingredients are fresh and asked my wife what ingredients she would suggest to make the dish better has all their other customers have really liked it. We immediately felt like we were little school children being told off.
What was absolutely unacceptable and unnecessary was when Kevin thought it was acceptable to turn round to me and I quote “is everything OK with your meal or are you not happy as well “ I have never been in such an unprofessional location for an evening meal in a very very long time and I'm still struggling to understand how Kevin thought that was completely acceptable my immediate response was to him “are you joking “ implying are you joking the choice of words and tone of voice was acceptable ?
Kevin did offer my wife a chickpea curry, however my wife chose to decline due to the poor experience of the previous dishes we had.
That evening we made a decision not to stay for breakfast the following morning. The hotel cost was £145 plus £10 for a dog to stay in the same room there for a total of £155. The experience completely spoiled our short breakaway as we were both looking forward to it since we had not had an opportunity to have a break since Christmas.
The following morning we checked out, Sue who I understand to be the Co-owner checked us out and asked if we were staying for breakfast of which we declined, under normal circumstances this would have been the opportunity for the hotel and in this case Sue to ask their guest if everything was OK with the stay, this was not asked and it was very clear that Sue would have been briefed of the unfortunate experience and the arrogance shown from Kevin the evening before. I waited for Sue to ask but this did not happen. I then gave an opportunity by asking if there was anything else that was needed from us before we left and the response both my wife and I received from Sue was “no, everything is done payment will be taken out of the debit card” and wished us a nice day.
Later that day the hotel contacted us to say that the card details we had provided were being declined and this was an unfortunate error on our part because the card that we had used expired at the end of May however payment was made later the day when we got home in England.

Fabulous venue. We hadn't booked a table, but on our return from Barmouth beach we pulled over to a lovely venue to see if had availability. Plenty of parking, and as we entered felt very welcome. Very dog friendly pub treats and drinks available. Landlord and staff very welcoming. Asked for a table and luckily they had one for the 4 of us is a snug room. A little wait for food but on arrival, what can I say.. defo worth the wait. My kids saying this the best pub meal they had. A steak for my 7 year old and I, and the pie for the other half and fish goujouns for my 5 year old. Could taste the quality and freshness. Overall a fantastic end of the day for our 9th wedding anniversary. On paying the bill the landlord had heard it was our anniversary and gave us a bottle of proseco as a lovely gesture and lovely customers who wished us well. Defo will return one day. Credit to staff and management. Highly recommend 👌🏽

Sunday lunch with friends. Booked ahead for seven of us. Delicious. Fast service, friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. Very reasonable priced menu, with plenty of options/choice.
Good wheelchair access.

We had worked hard fitting the new lighting to light up the outside. Went back a few days later in the evening to check them out, so we booked a table. Very pleased with how the lights turned out. The food was stunning, best steak I've ever had. The cheese board was very nice. Felt looked after by the staff and the general atmosphere was lovely. These guys are great customers of ours and we will become regulars. If your under the impression my review is bias just go and try the food, you'll see I'm just being honest.

Booked in for Sunday lunch. The food was exceptional, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The beef brisket was delicious, and the Creme Brulee was the best I've ever had! The Inn itself is full of character and very cosy and charming. Didn't stay here for accommodation but having visited for food and the standards I wouldn't hesitate to book accommodation

We called in by chance today on our way home from Tywyn. The restaurant was lovely and warm and the owners, staff and dog were very friendly and polite. We were a little early for food but we were made to feel welcome to wait whilst having a coffee. The food was delicious and prompt. Good choice on the menu and the bar. We will definitely visit again.
