Lovely spacious family room with very good facilities. Rooms equipped with fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, sandwich maker, plates, cutlery, coffee, tea and milk.

The fridge was stocked with orange juice, water and milk. Plus some yogurts to enjoy.

The breakfast is continental which is self service. We chose to have some toast and croissants in our room, but you could use the kitchen facilities.
Llandeilo 15 minutes by foot.

Could do with the property having a clear sign so you know it is the correct house. Also maybe advise in the room that you can help yourself to the breakfast and juices etc. These are not dislikes I just prefer to know and I only knew due to reading other comments.

Lovely 3 night stay. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. Great shower. Quiet location, 10 min walk into llandeilo. Breakfast is help yourself, continental style. By the 3rd morning I was wanting a cooked breakfast. Even the option to cook a boiled egg would have been nice. Fridge in the room, yogurts, milk, orange juice on arrival. Linen and towels clean and fresh. Carpet was quite stained in areas, but cream coloured, not practical. Other room we had booked had floor boards. Owners messaged to make sure we were OK. Not on site a lot, but contactable by phone/text.
I would stay here again and would recommend it.
Enjoyed my weekend visiting friends.

I stayed there with the family and I would give Melin Tregib 10 stars.
Kitchen was clean, specious and modern with dining area. We booked a family room but it looked like a family suite. Bathroom was clean, specious and modern. There was on suite fridge and tea kettle. Fridge had fresh juice, milk and water presented in beautiful jars.
It is located in a nice and calm area.

What a fantastic find....a tastefully modernised and renovated old mill with lovely spacious rooms and kitchen and laundry/utility room downstairs. Comfortable and clean in scenic surroundings.

Melin Tregib unfortunately works with poor customer service and business practices.
I regret booking here and it ended up being a very costly error for us.
Short version:
- Wet carpet in room due to poorly designed bathroom
- No hypoallergenic bedding available
- No staff on site
- Room not particularly clean
- Poor breakfast
- Noisy room
- Cancellation refund not honoured
- Poor customer service
Long version:
There are no staff on site at the b&b. The door is left unlocked for access which does seem to be a bit of a security issue.
We showed up to the property at 7.30pm on a Sunday night after a 6 hour drive. I went to the room and realised the bedding was feather which I’m allergic to. I immediately called Gaina to try to resolve this. Unfortunately there were no hypoallergenic duvets on site and she was not located close to the property and was unable to resolve this that evening. She rightly said I had not let her know in advance of my allergy, but she also had not let us know in advance that there are no staff on site to deal with arising issues. Fortunately we had come directly from a camping trip so were able to use our sleeping bags for the first night and 3 of the 4 pillows were synthetic.
Gaina told me I would need to wait until 10am the next day to speak to the cleaner about the duvet as the cleaner does not have a key to the room.
I then did a round of the room with dettol wipes as it wasn’t particularly clean - smears on mirror, dust on surfaces, dirt on light switches, dirty soap tray in shower, etc.
Once I took my shoes off I realised that the rug in the room was wet. I put this outside to dry out. I then realised the rug was wet because the carpet underneath it was very wet. We got our picnic blanket from the camping trip out to cover the wet floor.
We stayed that night as it was late and we were really tired from the travel and just wanted to sleep.
We didn’t sleep particularly well as there was a lot of plumbing noise.
We woke up early as the curtains do not block the light out.
We had our breakfast which was very basic: just white toast and jam, cereal, and plastic wrapped pain au chocolat.
We decided we didn’t want to stay for a week in a room with a wet floor which has no hope of drying out. I called Gaina to explain. She made no offer to rectify the situation and said I needed to contact booking.com customer services to arrange cancellation of the room and said she would refund us for the nights we didn’t stay. Unfortunately she didn’t keep her word and has charged us £150 for our 1 night stay, refunding us £350 for the remaining 4 nights.
As we were packing up the car to leave the cleaner asked me if we were leaving. I said we were because of the wet carpet. She then told me that the design of the bathroom directs the water from the shower towards the door to the room where it soaks into the carpet. It’s clear from this that there is a known issue with this room that hasn’t been resolved and the owner is renting the room out anyway without notifying customers. It is very clearly substandard to rent out a room with a known wet carpet for £100pn.
Cancelling our stay then of course meant we needed to rebook some accommodation for the remaining 4 nights which in peak holiday season when you’re travelling with a dog is not straight forward and ended up costing us more than we budgeted for as there were very limited options.
I spent a bunch of time we should have been relaxing on holiday dealing with administration about the room cancellation and replanning our activities for the week. I did not receive any apology from the host.

I can only speak of the room the room was clean and so was the shower room. The food wasn't nice there was half open milk left in fridge for us which was out of date the next day so I assume a previous occupant had used this too(not very good during covid). A bowl of strawberries sitting in water some strawberries had mould on them and my partner said the bread tasted weird. I then got an email the day after I departed saying I could use the kitchen, I didn't because other people are using and touching food in there too again not suitable during covid. Although room was clean I'm not sure about bedding it was creased and crumpled giving the impression someone else had stayed there and bedding not changed. I wouldn't go there again.

We stayed for a second time at Melin Tregib last week, and once again, everything was excellent. Gaina, the host, was quick to respond to messages prior to our visit and went out of her way to ensure that the accommodation felt like 'home from home'.

We stayed in the family suite and it was perfect for us. Our children had their own adjoining room and the suite was well equipped with supplies and electrical appliances, including a well-stocked fridge (milk yoghurts, orange juice), toaster and kettle. Despite Covid restrictions, a good breakfast was provided along with tea and coffee.

The location feels very rural, but is close enough to the local shops. It is not far from a range of local attractions, making it a perfect base for an 'outdoorsy' family holiday. Thank you to our hosts for another lovely stay. I would highly recommend Melin Tregib for anyone looking for a peaceful and hassle-free holiday in South Wales.
