The Olway Inn

We had a wonderful three night stay. Nicola and Matt were the most friendly and helpful hosts. Luke and the bar & restaurant staff have the same friendly demeanor. They make everyone welcome, generating a lovely relaxed ambiance.
This attracts locals and business / holiday guests, many of whom are return visitors.
The food is delicious and the portions generous. However, this is not standard pub fare. Nicola takes real pride in cooking everything from scratch. Every dish starter, main and dessert is prepared by Nicola and Matt. Nicola's formal training as a chef shines through! I commended her on the depth of flavor of her hot chicken curry. The next evening she brought me her beef to taste... delicious! Curry seems to be very popular with the guests.
The garden and outside space is very well kept and adds to the relaxed atmosphere.

Stayed at the Olway Inn in Usk for two nights when visiting for a friends wedding. The inn is a beautiful building, full of character and history. The rooms are small but comfortable, clean and homely. The cooked breakfast was excellent. The five star rating really comes down to the staff/owners. They could not have been more welcoming and friendly. We arrived late at night, after the pub had closed but we rather cheekily asked if we could have a quick drink before bed and they were happy to accommodate. They were flexible about our checkout time meaning we could have a relaxed morning the day after a wedding, for which we felt very grateful, and even let us leave our car in the carpark after checkout so we could explore the town before departure. Highly recommend!

This restaurant serves one of the best Sunday lunches you could wish for. I always have the three meats of pork, lamb and beef which comes with a good selection of vegetables. I order extra gravy which is delicious and usually have no room for pud. I highly recommend this pub for sunday lunch.

Absolutely stunning food here, the menu was not stuffed with needless extras - just a nice selection of things done really really well. The team are superb and I would highly recommend for everyone. Great place to take your dog with you too
