The West Arms

We stopped here on our way through, not quite by accident, just before the end of their lunch serving. We were welcomed in with the dog too and nothing was too much trouble. The owner was polite, attentive without being intrusive and very welcoming. The food was absolutely fantastic and worth the money spent. Quite possibly the best pub food we have had!

The food is good but the owner/bar manager is sharp and dismissive; several times I have tried to get a lunch meal but turned away as we haven’t booked. We explained that we would be happy with a quick sandwich and as the place was empty at the time, I thought we could be accommodated. Unfortunately, we were sent on our way! This is a shame as I am local and running a leisure business, with up to 10 clients a day - we could be regular customers!

We wanted to go somewhere different for our wedding anniversary and it was the icing on the cake. I cannot recommend The West Arms highly enough. We were made very welcome, and the food was stunning. Not cheap, but I would rather pay more for a really, really nice meal than an average price for an average meal. It's probably the nicest meal we have had in years and we cannot wait to visit again.
The whole building was gorgeous and we definitely would like to stay over next time we visit

Lovely place, brilliant views from outside, great outside area in general (although you can’t eat out there which is a shame) the staff seem nice and friendly, the quality of the food is outstanding although the portion sizes are a little small, there’s plenty of parking and in general we had a lovely time there. However… the price, oh my the price. Now the food was amazing so I don’t have too many complaints but it was extremely expensive and they add on a service charge of 10% on top.

Lovely place, beautiful building and grounds. Owners and staff were very friendly and welcoming especially to dogs. Food was excellent and would recommend.

We ordered drinks which took an age, then were left with a menu. Service came with an attitude which seemed as though they were doing us a service and we were an inconvenience to their day. Arrogant manager with a superior attitude, clearly with no understanding of customer relations.
Can’t comment on the food because we walked out after paying for the drinks, which again took too long. Took too long because they massaged the bill and we were not prepared to pay for drinks not ordered.
Not coming back here again, disappointed!

Amazing atmosphere, very kind and professional service, wonderful food, great location and view. I would most certainly recommend. The couple who run this place are fabulous. Been there a couple of days, was a treat.

Family meal out for Sunday lunch. Really beautiful meal which all 9 of us enjoyed. Staff were so welcoming and friendly. I'd love to return for a drink in the beautiful garden. Thankyou Xx
