First impressions say a lot and when entering the building l felt that it needed some serious TLC along with a very good hoover and carpet shampoo and the damage to the walls attended to. . The rooms clearly had not been vacuumed and there were a lot of stains on the carpet. The mattress was stained, although the sheets and towels had been changed (I think). The toilet hadn't been properly cleaned and there was evidence of previous occupation and I needed to clean it before use. Some of the toiletries had been used, I don't think it's too much to expect fresh ones and heaven knows when the bathroom floor last saw a wash. I even had my own spiders Web under the bedside cabinet! Not impressed and couldn't honestly recommend. I have given it 2 stars because it was cheap and I think with a bit of TLC, attention to detail it could be OK, but needs a very good deep clean.

Do not stay here. Left our parking details with the Spar manager as advised and received parking tickets. The hotel have completely ignored our requests for help and now we are forced to pay. Disgraceful.
If you stay here - check the parking rules carefully and do not rely on the hotel to give you the correct guidance.

Terrible service if it exists at all. It's cheap, but that's because the hotel is in cahoots with a company called Parking Eye Limited who give you hefty parking fines. That's how they make some money back. Hotel completely ignored our emails about the fines after giving us the instructions on what to do, which we followed to the letter.

Second time here and it is good value for the money we had a family room we had a 50 percent voucher for burger king from the services and it was a clean big pleasant room but if you are a lifht sleeper like myself I would not recommend number 23 as people kept on opening and shutting the door which was noisy as it was an exit door was in the hall next to our door and it sounded like someone kept on knocking on our door woke me up a few times and also the dual carriageway with the cars driving fast kept me awake apart from that I would recommend staying here.

Nice comfortable and warm room with bathroom and tea making facilities. Down side, staff are questionable, cleaners seen to be awol, stunk to high heaven of warm festering rubbish...dope would have been a much preferred aroma to have clung to the lining of my nostrils, a growing pile of rubbish bags collecting in the corridor and the opposite, a growing pile of dirty bedding. Leaves are part of the furniture from the entrance. Room 27 cannot drain the bath water due to a broken plug, hdmi port on wall not secured properly meaning hdmi lead does not fit. Can hear people in the corridor as if they were in your room with you.
But still had a good nights sleep.

I recently had the displeasure of staying at the Raglan Lodge, and I was extremely disappointed. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that the hotel was run down and in desperate need of renovation. The walls had holes in them, the reception desk was unmanned, and I was instructed to go to a nearby service station to retrieve the key.

The state of the room was equally disappointing, with worn and outdated furnishings and a general feeling of neglect. It was clear that the hotel had not been properly maintained for some time, and it was a far cry from the comfortable and inviting accommodations I was expecting.

Additionally, the lack of a receptionist and the need to go to a service station to retrieve the key was extremely inconvenient and added to the overall unpleasant experience.

In conclusion, I would not recommend the Raglan Lodge to anyone. The state of the hotel and its lack of basic amenities made for an uncomfortable and unsatisfactory stay. If you're looking for a comfortable and well-maintained hotel, I would advise you to look elsewhere

The staff told us parking was FREE. It's all over their websites too.
A month later we get a 150£ fine.
They can't accept the proof of our stay as a paid parking!

They don't answer Emails either.

I see many people on here get scammed, it's not even a coincidence.

If you don't sort our parking ticket this week, we will press charges.

We stayed over there on the way to an ice hockey game. It's about 30 minutes drive from Cardiff docks (where there Ice Arena Wales is ). It was a cheap hotel , but you get free WiFi, clean rooms and helpful stuff. Just remember there hotel is managed by the staff from the petrol station opposite, so you need to visit them before heading to the hotel. You also (as of December 2022) are getting few coupons for 50% off Burger king , located within the same services that hotel is. Which makes a difference if you fancy a food.
We did enjoyed our stay and most likely be back next time our team plays junior Devils.
