I enjoyed my stay here! The place has a very much homely feel to it in my opinion. I had excellent customer service from check in to check out. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom in great condition. Abergavenny is a sweet town and great location to see the best of South Wales’ countryside. Breakfast was pure heaven with fantastic presentation and high quality food.

If I were to change one thing, it would be the hair-dryer. I found it difficult to use effectively with long hair and I would have liked a no-heat option. But this is a more trivial point and did not detract that much from my overall experience.

I would highly recommend this as a place to stay. It is literally in the middle of town, with shops, cafés, hairdressers etc literally a minute’s walk away. Thank you for such a positive stay :)

This is a strange one, because the room was big and nice, with a confy bed and crisp white sheets... but then you have this raised plastic shower tray, and this strange silvery shiny artwork you always wonder who buys and that is not at all in keeping with the rest of the room. This is a bit of a thread though, as the downstairs pub/restaurant is a mix of well restored / lovely features, a nice back area, huts on the street... and the less liked version of an old man's pub vibe with not so nice upholstery and a fruit machine / digital disc jockey thing. It's a bit all over the place?

Such a lovely place! Abergavenny is a cute town situated perfectly for exploring the Brecon Beacons and The King’s Head was the perfect stay. Situated above an Indian restaurant that also offers English Breakfast, the rooms were sparkling clean and the beds comfortable. A lovely view of the street below. Can be a bit noisy if you’re a light sleeper but if you want to close the windows, they have a fan you can turn on for air flow. Lots of plugs and USB outlets in convenient locations by the bed. The breakfast was great, comes with spinach which is rare to see nice green veggies in English breakfasts. Will stay here again next time I’m back

Don't come here is you want an early night, the entertainment in the bar was very noisy and did not finish until 11.30pm, and people were noisy until after midnight. (it was a Saturday night). Food was good.

Fabulous place right in the middle of the town.
Rooms could do with a make over bar ok bit noisy at night live singing room over the front.
Food ok in restaurant would recommend breakfast cracking.

Teeny bar.
Despite being sat next to the bar, the bartender could not serve us. We had to wait for Cuckoo with an ipad to visit our table to order drinks.
Faux trendy clientèle and rather expensive drinks.
One pint and we moved on. Won't be going there again.

Great room and great breakfast. Some staff really stand out and are really helpful. One of the ladies that does breakfast was really welcoming. We had a meal in the restaurant which was also nice. You get what you pay for here.
