My partner and I spent a gorgeous afternoon and night here last Friday. Welcomed with smiles and warmth by both owners we felt instantly so comfortable.Very well kept gardens for a relaxing afternoon drink (the gin cocktails were gorgeous). Our room was so tastefully done with lovely little touches. Views out of the gardens to admire the array of birds coming down to feed. The food was great and breakfast was a treat with obviously very well sourced ingredients cooked with knowledge and care to send you on your way for the day. One of the best nights we have had for a long time and couldn't recommend highly enough.

Absolutely first class Hotel.
Our stay was fantastic from start to finish. The proprietor so friendly and efficient. The hotel is stunning and set in beautiful wooded gardens with many birds to spot including a kingfisher.
The evening meal was absolutely incredible, the locally sourced products and home made bread divine. Absolutely recommend booking dinner here whether you stay there or not.
Tranquil setting with a lovely terrace to sit and relax in overlooking the private garden and stream.
The breakfast was perfect, watching the birds feed too. Attention to detail and real care and pride in the profession shown. Thankyou.

Ty Mawr is set in the quiet village of Brechfa. Brechfa has a small, volunteer run, village shop and a pub/restaurant and not much else. Our three-night stay at Ty Mawr was truly memorable thanks in most part to the friendly and helpful hosts David and Gill ably assisted by the equally helpful and friendly Annette and Marlene. All are knowledgeable about the local area and happy to recommend places to visit.

It may not be 5 star luxury (it doesn’t claim to be) but it is a 5 star experience. The food is of the highest quality and the evening menu varies every day. Breakfast is fresh and locally sourced. There are two public seating areas including a warm and comfortable lounge. The pleasant lawned garden is fringed by the Marlais River.

The rooms are homely and the bed one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. There are only six bedrooms so you won’t be overwhelmed with other guests.

We would happily return and I think it is excellent value for money.

First class birthday weekend away. Dave, Gill and Buster are magnificent hosts who make you feel welcome and extremely comfortable.

We arrived to a warm cuppa and homemade fruit cake (by far the best we’ve ever had) in the lounge. Dinner was delicious and cooked perfectly. We were served breakfast by Erin both mornings, she was very friendly and breakfast was divine with home made bread too.

The rooms are perfectly set, comfortable bed, cosy duvet, robes and even a hot water bottle if you need it.

Can’t wait to return!

We had the absolute pleasure of holding our wedding weekend here last weekend. Gill and David are wonderful hosts. Nothing was a problem. No request too difficult. The food was AMAZING (and locally sourced). The rooms are large and beds super comfortable. We will definitely be back. To see them both (and Buster), to support a true gem of a place and hosts and to remember our wonderful wedding weekend. THANK YOU Gill and David. Everything was just perfect.
