Rooms are warm & clean, & they all have showers. The hotel rooms are thoroughly serviced everyday. Reasonable prices. Unfortunately, the main hotel is closed for much of the day, but visitors have permanent access to their rooms through a side entrance. No food available in the hotel. The female receptionist was particularly nice and friendly. Not bad.

There's been a real effort to do the rooms and the public areas very nicely and fashionably. They are pleasant and the beds are comfy. So the general shabbiness of the rest of the building is surprising. Had I seen the exterior of the building before reserving, I probably would have gone elsewhere. You have to wonder why a management would put essential-oil diffusers in the stairwell, but ignore chipped paint and holes in the wall. There is no catering at all, although there are plenty of places to eat within a comfortable walk.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights. Sadly we had a family funeral to attend. The receptionist was very nice. The room was spacious and clean as was the shower room and toilet. Only spoiled by three flights of stairs to climb, I have walking difficulties and they were a nightmare for me. No breakfasts were available but a wonderful place ( food for thought ) is on the main street with disabled parking nearby did some lovely food.

Nice room clean and tidy nice shower. Lovely manager very helpful. However, it had a very bad musky smell, no good for disabled people, nice bar but alas no draught beer, however I'm sure it will improve.

Booked online, £50 for 1 night, twin room for 2 people. At that price my expectations were set quite low.
Its an odd venue, doesnt open until 3pm, stays "open" until 9pm but then you can use your key card to gain entry after that and there is a Porter on duty (although I'm not sure Porter stays on site).
First impressions aren't brilliant I must admit, the hotel looks run down and smells of damp.
Our room was right at the top of 4 flights of stairs (again, although it was a trek we had been made aware of this before hand by looking at Trip advisor etc).
The downstairs use to have a bar but its all closed up and it doesn't look the most welcoming.

Couldn't fault the friendly welcome we received from the receptionionist.

The room was spacious, very clean. 2 x single beds, 2 x chairs. Bathroom was a good size and again spotless.
The floors were very creaky and door bangs in the wind (we blocked it with a chair).
No parking available which is a bit inconvenient.
Tea and coffee in the room, would have loved a biscuit!!

Disgusting. Only good thing about our stay was the lovely lady that checked us in. She was very polite and friendly. Thats where the good starts and ends.
As soon as you walk in this "hotel" you are greated with a musty yet at the same time, chemically smell that says with you, where ever you go. Be aware that all rooms are up two flights of uneven stairs so not ideal for everyone.
The rooms are well decorated and you can see they have tried to do the place up. Just be warned though this is just a facarde to the unclenliness of the hotel. To name but a few things we had blood spots on the sheets, disgusting sticky residue in the bedsite cabinet draws, the dressing table draw was absolutely covered in substances that looked like variety of different things, cracked window pane, the outside of the kettle was covered in splattered food and the bathroom in particular the shower head was very grubby.
Have stayed in a lot of hotels over the years never have i felt the need to sleep in my own clothes above the covers in one until i stayed here.
Oh and not to mention the fact reception is kept locked from the outside (having to be unlocked by receptionist to be able to check in) as well as no access from the inside as it is also kept locked. There is a phone in the corridor which apparently you can contact someone on.
I would best describe this place as a poor unclean hostel and thats probably doing a dis service to some hostels out there.

A nice hotel the rooms are great. There is a large amount of renovation work going on in the bar and restaurant.

Falsely reviewed and advertised as a comfortable clean hotel it is really a very basic 1 star hotel or backpackers hostel. The bed was uncomfortable and furnishings spartan and the location is a run down part of town. Our room was at the end of a damp dank corridor and had a horrible stale smell.
Pay a bit extra and find yourself another place
