Hampton Hotel

Room with a view, free parking at the rear, food, shops, supermarket and station a few minutes walk. Arrived on a Monday afternoon and the greeting was polite and prompt. Efficient and friendly check in directed me to a room which was warm, clean ( new carpet, paint etc so recently refreshed ) and the bed was comfortable. I’ve travelled significantly UK and worldwide and this room truly was great value for money. Clean towels, en-suite and nicely decorated with a tv, kettle / coffee tea, clean glasses for water which from the tap tasted great, clothes hangers, touch operated electric bedside lamps and dressing mirror. Pub bar downstairs, Chinese buffet and a nice lake walk nearby. It’s obvious that there is a road outside looking at the map so normal town noises cannot be blocked out but I slept well in a good bed. I gave it five stars because I couldn’t find a reason not to.

Absolutely lovely! Room was tidy, cozy and comfortable with everything one could need. Staff was friendly and always ready to help when needed. The hotel had a very welcoming feel to it which matches perfectly the character of the town. As for the breakfast, although with not many options, was tasty and well cooked. Only bad thing was the Wi-Fi signal, which was quite poor.

The room is big with a separate toilet shower and sink, nice bedding and a wardrobe. There is a chinese buffet connected but it isn't a buffet, you just keep ordering food if you want it,, my wife said it was lovely but I got king prawn sweat and sour and I'm pretty sure it was not prawn at all (I wouldn't recommend going in). There are two bars, one was lively with friendly talkative locals drinking and playing pool, it was right up my street but the wife felt a little intimidated then there was a quiet empty bar for guests that was very nice. It is in the town centre and above a bar so not very quiet but I had no problem sleeping. For £65 a night I would recommend it but eat down the road there is plenty to choose from. 👍

Worst hotel experience I have had. Repeatedly disturbed by other residents at the hotel culminating with a man beating at my door accusing me of videoing his sister naked. Half an hour later there was a fight - presumably the chap found the person he was looking for. I was staying in the area for an event the next day and met another guest who had a similar experience and called the police. Another international visitor had been scared that the banging on the door was residents trying to find him because he was the same nationality as the team England were playing in the football which was on screen in the bar. I spent the night wide awake with the door to my room barricaded.

I've stayed in accommodation alongside local authority residents before but never had such an awful experience.

For this visit everything was good, location, not far to The Royal Welsh Show, friendly staff, the room could have done with a fan but was comfortable enough.
Didn't know breakfast was served in the Chinese restaurant next door at first, but had a lovely blether with the chef & had one of the best breakfast's I've had this year.

Very clean, good room facilities, very comfortable bed, very friendly staff, really good breakfast and a locked shed to store my motorcycle overnight; what more could you ask for? Interior is very dated, but not in a way that affects comfort in any way and you get extremely good value for money.

Booked on July 29 and the lady phoned me back to confirm the booking, then turned up on the September 3 and the room has been given to someone else lady on desk not very helpful ,lucky my daughter had booked 2 rooms for herself and family so we can share, I for one will not be back in this hotel, if you want to stay her book though booking site then you have a room,good luck.

Great beer and helpfull friendly staff. Highly recommend
