Came here as guests for a wedding. The castle is beautiful and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Cannot comment on rooms as we stayed a few minutes down the road.

It looked lovely decorated for a wedding and the view from the room we ate the wedding breakfast in was amazing.

Had a great time!

We went to a wedding there, the grounds and buildings looked good with some amazing views of the surrounding countryside, the staff were brilliant, always willing to help you. The room we stayed in needed a bit of TLC but the bathroom was very new and spacious so it seems things are being done to improve the rooms. All in all we all had a brilliant day and a good night sleep..

Fantastic old castle with opera house to boot! Food for a wedding was really good and not the usual mass catering style. Staff friendly and has a great little bar. Didn’t stay overnight but was told the rooms were great.

We recently stayed as part of a wedding and were amazed.
What a charming place steeped in history. The staff were very accommodating for the general wedding party and for us with young children. The afternoon tea was beautiful and the evening buffet was delicious.
We stayed overnight too. The room was dated but sufficient for our needs. The bathroom was modern. The bed was very comfortable and I had a great night's sleep once the wedding party retired for the night.
Breakfast was fantastic in the morning. Great selection with two fussy children to feed so was pleasantly surprised.
Thank you for a wonderful stay and look forward to visiting again in the future.

Thanks for the reply Michael. Whilst I appreciate staff have feelings and are not mere folklore beings, perhaps I can politely address the fact that customers, potentially fee paying customers are real beings with feelings also.

Perhaps being Canadian, and more used to impeccable customer service in North America, I find it unpleasant when faced with an alternative offered here. In North America we, the customer, reward good service and manners from hospitality staff with tips. Perhaps it is fortunate that staff here are not reliant on generous gratuities from a customer for friendliness warmth and manners.

A very picturesque wedding venue with a gorgeous ceremony room. Perfectly situated in the Beacons. Very helpful and experienced staff. Highly recommended!

Came here for dinner, bed and breakfast. The building itself is beautiful with a stunning location. The staff are very helpful and polite, couldn't fault the service. Evening meal was OK, bit too 'pub grub' for my tastes, especially as we were seated in the bar area with the World Cup footy on the TV blaring out. Apart from that, breakfast was great, croissants to die for and the room was cosy. The room with the log burner in it downstairs was great for sitting with the dogs in. Everywhere was dog friendly, (our dogs loved it!)
