The Elephant & Castle Hotel

Had dinner here. The bar area and lounge looked welcoming and friendly, and the dining room was quiet, but the food wasn't worth the money. Parts of the meal were missing and only found out they had ran out when asking about the missing items. Also, don't know how you can screw up cooking chips, but the outside looked dark, almost burnt, while the inside was just about cooked.

Having spent an entire day here for a wedding I cant fault the staff or venue at all. Both Lisa and Elliot run the day to perfection. They moved us round to where we need to be without any fuss or pushyness. The meals and drinks were served quickly and efficiently and when a guest broke a glass on the table it was dealt with very professionally without a fuss. The venue is in a beautiful riverside location which lends itself to some gorgeous photos. All in all a highly recommended venue for a wedding meal of even just a drink.

very clean with a modern feel. Nice big bath and comfortable bed. parking around the back is large enough. Nice location to town and by the river.

Yet again great service and beds are very comfortable.
Great stay for the price

A bit run down. TV not working, same for a colleague. Also a few weeks earlier not working when another colleague stayed. Please fix the TV's

This is the second time I have stayed in this hotel. The room this time was adequate but nowhere near as nice as the last time. The mattresses were hard and I mean hard I like a firm mattress but this was hard . Big plus is breakfast fast starts at 7.00 am which is a blessing for those that have to be on the road early. Good choice of cereals, juices, etc. The cooked breakfast was disappointing. As the first customer of the morning it was cold and overcooked. How can that happen? Was well impressed last time I stayed but disappointing this time

We paid for bed AND breakfast which we thought was a lot but it was boxing day and mostly good reviews
However when we went to check in later in the day we were asked had we been informed there was no chef so no breakfast..
We did not think that was right having paid for that when we questioned it all we had was a bad attitude stating it was that price if you had breakfast or not so no point asking for anything back.
Then discussing it in the bar to be verbally abused by someone who might work there saying don't mention breakfast again..
Absolutely shocking experience would not stay there again.
