Harbourmaster Hotel

Went to the restaurant for food and it was exquisite. Book in advance, you are unlikely to get a table as a walk in. The food is excellent, their wine list similarly so is the range of cocktails and spirits.
The staff are cheerful, attentive and very helpful with food and drink selections. We ordered a "nibbles" plate, two starters and two mains. We both had one alcoholic drink and it all came to less than £80 total. This is a bargain for the quality of the food, the care from the staff and the experience.
This is a destination restaurant, book a table and go there to enjoy the experience. I would definitely recommend this place and I would visit again.

Stayed here and the room was lovely and very clean with amazing views over the harbour! We didn't eat other than breakfast but that was lovely! Only thing I did find was we were only given plastic cups for our drinks that we took up to our room understand for people wanting to go outside but when you're paying £24 for 2 double gin and tonics would have been nice to have it in a proper glass!

Had a lovely meal. The baby squid with chili was delicious; scallops; heritage tomatoes also excellent. Sea bream was perfectly cooked with the Indian potatoes being an interesting twist. The sticky toffee pudding with ginger was the pick of the puddings, but the peach melba was also excellent. Loved the purple moose draft beer.

Had a very nice meal here this evening. All the staff were pleasant and attentive. Quality of the food was excellent. Delicious combinations and local produce which is always a huge plus.

It's light and airy inside and we were lucky enough to be seated at the large front window overlooking the harbour.

Very well priced and deserves its mention in the Michelin Guide. Definitely recommend so much that we've booked again for Thursday.

A warm welcome from friendly and helpful staff. The rooms for my daughter and myself were lovely and clean with views over the harbour and nice touches like a good coffee machine and home-made biscuits and top quality soaps and shampoos etc. The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent. Everything was spotlessly clean. The evening meal was a delight and the crab linguine was a full 10 out of 10. Perfectly balanced flavours. Absolutely exquisite! My daughter said that it was the best meal that she’s ever had. The bar is very well stocked and the bar staff are knowledgeable too. Breakfast was also first class and was made with very high quality local produce. There were no negatives at all and I thoroughly and highly recommend the Harbourmaster Hotel

Ate here tonight and loved it. All the staff were really polite and friendly. The atmosphere inside was relaxed. Music at a good level too - not too noisy!

The focaccia to start was delicious, as you’d expected from Watson & Pratt’s.

The steak was also delicious. Cooked perfectly to order which I was really impressed with. The kale was beautifully fresh and the chips were excellent. The peppercorn sauce was perfect!

I wasn’t thrilled by my sticky toffee pudding. It could have been much more gingery to my taste and there was just too much toffee sauce (again my preference) - made the whole thing too much for me.

Will 100% be back.

Stopped over for evening meal, as reviews were really good. We were not disappointed from the minute we stepped into the restaurant to the end of dinner. Really nice cosy kind of place, serving high end quality food. The mash potatoes & almond butter was awesome. Unfortunately, we did not have time to stay and enjoy the harbour area.

Came here for my birthday meal this week. From the moment we arrived we were impressed, lovely friendly service and a very relaxing atmosphere. Great selection of drinks and excellent menu choices

All the food was of the very best quality, and very reasonably priced especially given the quality and location

We will be coming back for sure when we are next in the area
