Called to book on the off chance of a last minute table and what a little gem we found. The food is delicious. The kids lasagne is very very good. Portions are huge, all homemade. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Play park for kids is lovely. Thank you all

We went in for Sunday lunch and unfortunately you had to have everything exactly as it was written on the menu you couldn't change anything which was very disappointing especially as Sunday lunch was £14 a head. So we didn't eat there so I can't comment on the quality of the food I can say they serve a nice pint and have lovely views.

Looks a great place however it's cold outside now and I had my dog with me after a nice days walking but sadly they do not allow dogs inside. So moved on as every other place in town is dog friendly. So go anywhere else but here with a dog and you'll be fine.

Went with friends, there were eight of us. We had booked. The food was great and the staff were lovely. Would recommend to anyone looking for good food at a reasonable price and good service .

Lovely pub, great atmosphere, for a standard portion of cod & chips Whitby has nothing on The Black Lion!
That was easily the biggest portion of cod I've eaten & my friends were throughly impressed with their gammon & chilli.

Stopped for family meal. Had the gammon, egg, tomato, flat mushrooms, onion rings, side salad and pineapple salsa, almost forgot a bowl of chips. Huge portion but really delicious. My wife had home made lasagne which was very good. Son had fish and chips (fish was massive) daughter in law had hulume burger and grandchildren had lasagne and chicken gujouns. Almost forgot the the view from our table was fantastic. Thanks for excellent meals and great service 👍

Popped in to have a pint at Dylan Thomas' old pub. Really lovely- and tastefully modernised without losing any of its historic charm. Good service and a great pint.
