What a great place - a real hidden gem. Owners are nice, the lodge is perfect for 4 adults or a family, everything is clean and the view is amazing.

Fantastic stay, very very clean cabin, everything you need is at hand, any issues the owners see to it straight away although I encountered no problems.

I brought my now fiancè there to propose to her send she says YES!! Totally worth the money weather you spend 700 or 1.5k, it's worth it. The views are picture perfect, location is, and surrounding areas of going out.

I hope we are able to visit once again next year.

Absolute peace of paradise, views are absolutely stunning, first class accommodation everything for your home from home nothing is too much trouble for the owners to make this your perfect retreat.

Avoid. Summer holidays ruined. Disgusting and unacceptable treatment from the owners and/or Sykes.
Booked through Sykes Cottages early May. For 2 adults, 2 children and a baby aged 11months. All stated when booking and everything was going fine. We were really looking forward to our first family holiday since Covid and a first holiday for our newborn too. We purchased a stroller pram and a travel cot for the trip too. We booked for August 19th to 26th.
Then it happened...48 hours before our holiday started, 17th August, we receive an email from Sykes stating the booking had been cancelled by the owners due to occupancy and all they could do was offer a refund. No phone call. No double checking the occupancy. Just an email stating it had already been cancelled ... what if I didn't read it in time and turned up at the door? Shocking how we were treated.
Kids hearts were broken. I don't know the real reason behind the cancellation as no-one took the time to explain. How can a baby in a bedside travel cot suddenly be deemed as breaching occupancy? If this was an issue then why wait 48 hours before we were due to travel before pulling the plug and leaving us without a holiday ? I would avoid.

This is the most stunning holiday lodge with breathtakingly views of open countryside. So peaceful. The only sounds are the birds and sheep. The lodge and all the fittings are of a first class standard. The wonderful owners are so welcoming and helpful and there is everything within the lodge that you could possibly want. Will definitely be returning.
