The Dragon Hotel

We attended for a Golden Wedding anniversary, but didn't stay in the hotel for the night, so I haven't rated the rooms. It's a beautiful venue with a lovely ambience. There was a small buffet laid on and it was delicious. Rather than being over faced with choice, there was a selection of fresh sandwiches, with tasty fillings. Some of the finest, artisan sausage rolls I've ever tasted and freshly prepared salads and coleslaw.. They have a great selection of locally brewed cask ales and the beer was kept very well. I'd highly recommend this venue for food and drink with friends and family.

Gorgeous location in Montgomery Town Centre. Short walk up steep hill to Castle. Friendly staff. Swimming pool available for use by booking slot at no extra cost. Great menu. Quirky rooms. Fabulous cooked breakfast where every element was cooked to perfection.

We had a fantastic time, lovely evening meal and breakfast. The staff are friendly, very polite and helpful. We had room 6, which had a lovely outlook of the centre and distant hills, was clean too. You do have to be mindful of the sloping ceiling and how the floor slopes, but they all add to this places character unfortunately the pool was closed due to rising costs, felt disappointed in this, but overall would love to come back for another stay.

Lovely old hotel full of character in a lovely village. Room was standard but clean and the bathroom was a nice size and modern. Bed wasn't the most comfortable but it was ok for a night. The only negative for me was how noisy my room was as I was right above the bar and restaurant. I appreciate the age of the hotel to understand that sound proofing isn't at it's best. I'm sure had I mentioned it staff would have helped if they could but nothing a pair of ear plugs couldn't help with and I slept well. The breakfast was delicious I'd definitely stay again.

Ate in the restaurant. Nice atmosphere. Good food and service. Loved the 'banana mess'.
Would recommend a walk to the castle before eating though - it's steep!

Food quality Is great, service was prompt and friendly.

Menu choice was extensive very tasty desert, bar staff recommended a great Welsh whiskey which was amazing.

Only lost one star due to the fact the table was really sticky, clearly hadn't been wiped down well. But didn't cause any major issues

A buffet lunch for 40 persons was set for us, staff could not have been more hospitable, the food was all home made, super delicious and plentiful.

Service and food was excellent. Unfortunately I was there after attending a funeral. Experience was very welcoming. It is in my local area and have been there before.
