Unassuming from the outside, but the food is legendary.
My wife and I came here during our honeymoon. The Shampan restaurant was almost empty inside when we arrived, and we were able to get a very good table inside the ship, looking out across the river, we loved the view and the rustic, maritime decor! It is a boat, after all.
Although there were no free-form sections on the menu, the staff listened to our dietary requirements and were careful to follow them. We both had good portions of very tasty curries and the most amazing peshwari naan that I have ever had.
I want to honeymoon here again just to visit this restaurant!

The food was delicious - so many really great veggie options. We had Paneer Tikka, Chana Masala, with garlic naan and Pialu Rice. All was really flavoursome and well spiced. The boat makes for a really cool setting, and it's beautiful to watch the sun set over the river. If the boat itself was given a bit of a spruce - deep clean, new chairs, new carpets, less flies - it would have been 5 stars. Would still very much recommend though!

We were not sure whether to go here based on mixed reviews but we are glad we did. The staff are friendly and efficient, they worked their socks off to give good service. The atmosphere was happy. Yes, it is odd seeing the freezers in the main part of the restaurant but it is a boat and kitchen space is limited. Lovely food with plentiful portions which is the main thing. Don't be put off by the bad reviews. Make your own mind up!

We've been spending our summers holidaying in West Wales for about 9 years and, after a 2 year (Covid lockdowns etc...) break, returned and were very much looking forward to re-visiting the Shampan as it was always one of our favourite places to eat. We weren't disappointed!

We are here twice during our September holiday working our way through utterly delicious dishes of beautifully HOT Goan Green Massala, coconutty Chicken Ceylon, buttery Makhani, slightly sweet & medium spiced Goan Methi and richly flavoured Madras.

The prices have gone up a bit, but given the current financial climate this is perfectly understandable - especially as this restaurant is a BOAT and not on mains gas, and I certainly wouldn't consider the increases excessive.

We're very much looking forward to returning next year whilst on holiday.

The restaurant is a boat at the far end of the Cark park. Really unique venue, but wonderful atmosphere, wonderful food, I had the Mogul Mossala and it was beyond delicious. The staff really friendly and bend over backwards to help. Price wise about the same as what u usually get in indian restaurants but so worth it for the experience.
