Shapla Indian Take Away

I have never used this takeaway before and I chose it after reading the glowing reviews. Unfortunately my experience did not match those that I had read. Although I cant complain about the service this was the worst food of any takeaway of any kind that I have ever had. Here are my comments:
Onion Bhaji's - dry and stale
Chicken Biriani - Did not taste like any Biriani I have ever tasted before, no real flavour to it, and I was unable to identify some of the meat.
Vegetable Curry - Apart from a few large lumps of unidentifiable vegetables this looked as if it had been put through a blender, and again there was no real flavour, certainly not a curry.
I ate about a third of the meal and through the rest away. It has not made me ill, so I dont think there are any hygiene problems, but the food was not up to standard I'm afraid, I wont go there again.

Always amazing. Best I've ever had. Always have the meat off the bone. Nothing else even compairs to this food. I could give 10 stars if it was available. Will cook anything even if not on the menu. I go for a ceylon its always great

Love Shapla’s unique taste and meat you get is always high quality, plenty of it and perfectly cooked. I’ve had plenty of curries in my time and I’d say that Shapla is my favourite.

Fantastic takeaway, have been having takeaways from Richard for 37 years, so sad I'll be having my last meal from there tonight has he is retiring this weekend

I have been coming to rich at shapla for around 30 years every Saturday more or less and sometimes a few nights in the week too I'm sorry to see you go rich but you deserve the rest

Best Indian around always has been, shame Richard is retiring and closing up but I suppose he deserves a rest after all these years.

I regularly use Shapla in Tamworth. Always friendly and the food is excellent. Always hot, always fresh and, certainly with the chicken Madras, huge amounts of meat!! Usually enough for two meals.

The only downside is they don't deliver or use Just Eat which they should consider.

Me and my family are massive on cooking are own Curry's by scratch, this is the only curry house in Tamworth I feel, that has that homemade curry taste to it!
Absolutely beautiful couldn't of asked for anything better.xx
