Beautiful pub, amazing food; Sunday roast as well as a Thai style spiced hake fillet that I inhaled, then tucked into someone else’s leftover cauliflower cheese side.
Well priced wine list, a lot of it by the glass. Didn’t try dessert but they brought lovely little handmade truffles with coffee. Absolutely great lunch, thank you.

1st time visited The Bird in The Hand for a meal, very pleasant staff made us very welcome. Food was delicious and reasonable priced. Good menu couldn't fault the whole experience.Will definitely be going again.

Stopped here for lunch and received a lovely smiling welcome. The staff here are a real treat, so happy and friendly. A lovely menu, which made it difficult to choose, but we settled on the Sunday Roast which was Sirloin of Beef or Leg of Pork …. another decision, but this was helped by the suggestion of having a bit of both ! My friend and I are more than aware that roasts can sometimes be a little disappointing … but not here, so very tasty, with crispy roast potatoes and a lovely selection of vegetables with the best gravy. I need to return to sample the other dishes on the menu, which I am confident will be 5 stars again.

Stayed for 1 night, nice room in a courtyard area. Dinner was excellent, I can recommend the steak & ale pie, very generous and tasty pie and the triple cooked chips where amazing. Very good breakfast selection.

Totally pleasant stay! Stayed for 1 night and was really impressed by the whole experience. On arrival we were greeted by a really nice guy who checked us in and handed over the room key. The room was spacious and really comfortable. We booked for dinner and after reading the reviews I went for the steak pie and was not disappointed. Lovely atmosphere, great service, good food reasonably priced. We will definitely return...

Excellent ambience, very welcoming place. A bit expensive. But worth every single penny. Food was superb and service very good. Thinking about staying there next time in the area.

Our family of 16 had a surprise birthday celebration here. The service was fantastic, seeing to our every need; the rooms spacious a comfortable; the food and drink delicious.

Visited for a company Christmas dinner, lovely caring staff, great service and awesome food. I was particularly impressed with the waitress who noticed my daughters macaroni cheese bowl was extremely hot and offered to decant onto the plate. We had a total of 18 people, all of the food came out together and it was all hot.
