ASK Italian

Won't go back again. The pasta was cold and the wait was longer than usual. Waited over 25 minutes just to place an order and had a hard time even getting staff to our table. Was thinking of just walking out after about 30 minutes of no attention until someone came to take our order. Then after another 20 minutes the food came but not very hot except the chips. Not very impressed with the food quality either as the pasta was undercooked and cold and the cod was swimming in water with the roasted potatoes soaking up the fish water. The staff seemed rushed off their feet while deliveroo was in and out of the restaurant every few minutes. It looked like people who ordered out fast food had better service than those who took the time to come out and dine in. Staff struggled to serve and clear tables at the same time and we were surrounded in the end with dirty tables. Strangely we were not even asked if we wanted any drinks or desert. The worst experience for dining in so far. Waste of money and time.

Great pizza, coffee and cake and a fantastic Ale. Really good service.

Just had a fantastic evening at Ask. The food was delicious, hot (a rarity at some restaurants!) and beautifully presented. The staff were amazing. From entering to leaving, the dining experience was faultless. The staff were friendly and very attentive. Alice couldn't do enough for us and Erin
(manager) was fantastic. The service was impeccable especially for such a large group of 15.

Always love a meal here. Lady who greeted us was lovely. I love the relaxed atmosphere and always enjoy the food. Obviously helps if you pick good company to be out with! Mine where very entertaining.

Always loved going to the ASK in Derby and as this has closed we thought we would drive over to Ashby. The restaurant was clean and inviting and we choose a seat by the window.The courses flowed nicely and the food was delicious. Good quality Italian food. We will be coming again in a few weeks. You can park in the coop just across the road which was a bonus 🇮🇹

Small place but very lively atmosphere. Staff were super friendly and couldn’t do enough to help when needed! Food was fantastic and it’s very reasonable for pricing. Definitely would recommend and I’ll certainly be back again for more!

By far my worst dining and service experience from Ask. It’s usually reliable. 6.30 reservation. Ordered starters and drinks with the qr code and all was good. Then ordered mains before any rush. Was asked if we would like them all together ✅ and then we waited and waited. No updates from the kitchen. Poor excuse from a server. Nobody followed up to see how it was. Yet I saw delivery bags being filled. Just a shame.

Food is fantastic, honestly it tastes amazing. However service is a little lackluster. Tables were filthy, food was all over the floor like a kids party when we were shown to our tables. We had empty glasses/plates on our table for a very long time and staff didn't care to remove or even ask if were were finished. Affected the experience to be honest as you expect a standard of service and when your paying as much as you are to visit here, you expect cleanliness to be better than what you'd get at a hungry horse.
To sum up food: 10/10
