The food in this restaurant is fabulous, nice to have a decent local Italian restaurant in the area.
My only criticism was the senior waitress could do with a little more customer service training, she was also rather harsh in front of customers to a junior member of staff, all she needed to do was pull her to one side to address the issue.
The customer service other than that was like the food; fantastic.

We came at a really busy time. Hadn't booked and was told 5 mins. Which was no problem at all as we was well looked after. Starters were excellent. And the main course I had the t bone steak with blue cheese. Cooked to perfection 😋. My misses had the chicken with mushrooms and she said that was really tasty. Will defo be coming again.

Very friendly staff and excellent service. My wife had the Sunday roast which came with plenty of vegetables, more than she could actually eat, and my pizza and garlic bread was very nice. Very enjoyable Sunday lunch time.

We all went this evening for my daughter's 5th birthday. Every single one of us had a tasty meal, loved the restaurant and the staff were fab. The happy birthday song was a wonderful surprise for my daughter. Highly recommend. Please support local and go here you won't be disappointed. 💜

The old Frankie and Bennys in Cwmbran has been reborn and rebranded by another company into La Dolce Vita.
The decor is as it was with only a few tweaks to enhance the feeling of a bygone trattatoria. European music with a modern flavour wasn't intrusive but a more Italian soundtrack would have enhanced the experience.
Our waitress Jade was very helpful and led us to a window table that was perfect.
Drinks were ordered with Jade willing for my wife to try a cocktail with a caveat of a no obligation to buy if not to her taste. With that my wifes penchant for cocktails were readily accommodated with a Pina Colet an Italian twist on the Colada. My wife's opinion was so positive that another was ordered that was not upto the first standard but was swapped with no fuss and no charge.
Food was ordered and arrived within 10 minutes consisting of Garlic Bread and Bruscetta with tomatoes and rocket. Both dishes were delicious and plentiful. Mains were ordered and arrived promptly consisting of my Carbonara, perfectly cooked and unctuous and my wife's Pollo funghi, delicious chicken with a mushroom sauce. I ordered a Greek salad which I regretted because of quantity and not quality which was excellent.
We couldn't finish our dishes as we were both very full but wasn't a problem as our leftovers were bagged up for us to take home for a later date.
Five Star rating for our experience overall with the food excellent and the ambience which was very good. We were informed of a Sunday Lunch menu which we may just take up on their offer very soon.
Well done La Dolce Vita
