I don’t want to leave a bad review for a local institution, Courlanders, but try David’s first! Expert service (they checked the stone setting I was worried about there and then) and three 18 carat gold rings polished and rhodium plated for £90 and back within the week. The ‘competition’ would not have even sent them to the workshop for five days, then 3-4 weeks to advise if the settings were OK and another 3-4 weeks to get the rings back - and all for £225!

I am extremely happy with my purchases from David’s Jewellers. After visiting multiple other Jewellers with little success, David’s was able to find me exactly what I was looking for. I was assisted by James who I found to be extremely knowledgeable, professional and caring. I will be returning to David’s for all my jewellery needs from here forward. David, Tony and Mandy are fantastic! I recently bought my fiancee an engagement ring, and wedding band. David did me a fantastic deal and provided good old fashioned service.

Plus, they were more than happy to change the wedding band, as I'd got the size wrong.

There's a reason why they've been around for 75 years - because they care. If you want quality jewellery, at great prices, with friendly service, there really isn't anywhere else to go.

Very, very happy with them. My late father's signet ring was broken.
The staff were extremely helpful and kept me informed about what could be done.
Their repair was fabulous and brought it back to its resplendent condition.
Cannot thank them enough for an item that is very emotional and personal for me.
Top marks for professionalism, customer service and standard of work.

This was one of the most upsetting dealings with a shop in my life. My partner brought my engagement ring here. Four months later one of the claws broke off and the diamond fell out. We found the diamond and they fixed it for us. The ring then broke again five months later, this time the diamond was lost. The shop didn't offer any kind of refund/voucher or anything to help us gain the value back. They blamed it on me, saying it happened through impact. However, I only wear my ring for a few hours a day, because the first experience scared me enough to only wear it when I knew I would be just at my desk or something similar. I hadn't knocked my hand at all and engagement rings are supposed to last a lifetime. They definitely shouldn't break twice in a year and a half. I was mainly shocked at the poor customer service, as they offered nothing at all to compensate for the breakage apart from a letter to the insurer stating it was damaged by impact. Engagement rings are very emotional purchases, so don't take the risk and buy from here! The whole experience was really heartbreaking.

Excellent customer service we bought 2 new wedding bands for our 50th wedding anniversary having bought originals from there in 1973 ! We had a good reminiscing chat which is something rare these days x

Absolute great staff and great prices on antique silverware would definitely recommend this place to other people and will hopefully purchase other silverware from this shop.

My fiancé were visiting his family in the area and, since we're getting married in March, popped in on a whim to see if we could find a wedding band for me.

Tony was so lovely, and presented a wide array of styles. The band I settled on was simple but extremely well made (the picture doesn't do it justice!) and astonishingly, much lower than we expected. AND it included resizing! We were set to go back to our home in the US in a few days; Tony said he'd try to get it done before then but we said no rush, we have family in the area and we can have them pick and bring it over for the wedding.

Two hours later, I get a call that the ring is ready! Tony had a little free time and wanted to make sure we got it before we left--such a thoughtful and kind gesture. They certainly have a customer for life! Can't wait to go back and browse their other gorgeous jewelry offerings.

Yes, I wrote an absurdly lengthy review but I think it's so important for people know that small, family-run businesses like these are special and we should continue to support them!
