I have no idea on the quality of the work at this shop because I did not get that far. I gave them my ring for repair on a Saturday and was told that it would be taken to a local workshop. When I expressed concern about this I was assured that it would be securely hand delivered so I agreed. The staff at the shop could not give me even a ball park estimate of the cost involved so I was told I would be called on the Tuesday with a quote for the repair. I had not heard anything by Thursday so chased the shop. I was called Friday afternoon and a message left on my phone saying that they had received the quote and to call them back. I did not succeed in getting through on the Friday so tried again on the Saturday. I finally got the estimate on the Saturday afternoon and the cost was a lot more than I was expecting. I have no idea if the cost is realistic or not so decided I'd like a second opinion and called back first thing on the Monday and asked if I could collect my ring. Unfortunately I was informed that there are only deliveries between the shop and the workshop once a week and I had just missed that so would have to wait a whole week to get my ring back. There was absolutely no flexibility in this and all that was offered was for the ring to be posted at my own risk. I was not allowed to go to the workshop to collect the ring myself. If I had been told that items are only transferred once a week I would have stuck with my instincts and taken my ring elsewhere.

Took a very expensive watch back to them as it had gone wrong. I was quoted over £340 pounds to have it repaired, which I promptly refused. I have just had it mended elsewhere for £40!

Really friendly and helpful, helped me decide on the perfect engagement ring which was tailored to my requirements and budget. Would highly recommend!

I wanted to sell my ring so I took it to this jewellers ,
The lady on the counter said she would get it weighed and give me a price,
She came back and offered me £140 saying it weighed 10g and was £14 per gram ,
At first I said yea that’s great, but I had doubts because I thought the ring was heavier! As the lady was getting the paper work ready I asked if I could see the ring on the scales myself ! She bluntly said “NO” when I asked why she replied , we do this kind of thing all the time, !! I replied so you won’t let me see how much my ring weighs ! She then again said “ NO” so I walked out !! What rude staff/owner ! What was the problem ?

Daniels Jewellers designed and handmade an engagement ring for my fiancé using a diamond which we had in the family with sentimental value. They were really helpful and the Jeweller there designed the ring to our specifications and took care to make sure it was perfect. The ring looks beautiful and my fiancé is very happy with it.

I took my ring in to get it re-sized. It only needed to go up one size and was told it would go to their workshop with a rough estimate of £40-60. They rang with a quote of £75. I accepted as it was already at the workshop and I wanted to wear it as soon as possible. When it was returned I put it on, went outside and continued shopping. I noticed something wasnt quite right as I was hearing the stone rattle. Upon closer inspection one of the claws holding the larger stone wasnt aligned and was not in contact with the stone. I then noticed the corner of the stone was damaged. I immediately went back to the shop and experienced what can only be described as the worst customer service. I explained to the woman behind the counter the problem. She had a look in the gloomy shop and said she couldnt see anything. I said it was very obvious if she wanted to have a proper look in the light plus you could hear the rattle of the stone. After a bit of back and forth along similar lines, her denying but not looking she took it to the jeweller in the back. Without looking at it he said it wasnt damaged with them as they wouldnt have touched the stone. I said it was not like that when I left it in their care as I have detailed pictures from before. The lady then came back and said she couldnt see any problems anyway and repeated the 'line' from the jeweller. Getting frustrated I asked her to please look at the ring properly and she would see it. She then said she doesnt have great eyesight so it would be pointless!!! Eventually she said she could sent it back to the workshop for them to look at it but by this point I know longer trusted them if they werent even willing to acknowledge the damage. So without saying anything I sent a picture to my original jeweller and she immediately responded saying what has happened to your ring?! I explained and she asked me to send it to her. She inspected it and confirmed the stone had been removed when they re-sized it which she said sometimes happens. She quoted me for a replacement stone and a repair to the setting which I am going ahead with at further expense to myself. Whilst I understand that sometimes damage is done, the attitude of denial was simply inexcusable. Please avoid!!

I have used these jewellers for many many years, and have always found them to be exellent and very reliable and efficient. Ted managed to sort my daughter and son in law with engagment and wedding rings, and they were stunning!! I have also purchased many pieces of jewellery there, and the staff are wonderful! Friendly polite and welcoming. I will be continuing to use their services for many years to come .
