Silver Lion Jewellers

I recently sent in a gold necklace to be repaired at Silver Lion Jewellers Exeter. The catch at the top had a minor break and so a simple re-solder was all that was required. I was impressed by how quickly they had managed to turn around my necklace, however, this was soon turned to disappointment. When I opened the package containing 'my' necklace it seemed to have grown 6 inches... When I questioned this, I was met with a rude and condescending response. I was repeatedly told 'why would we give you 6 inches of gold chain for free?!' and when I produced a photograph to compare the lengths I was told that I must have been wearing a different necklace, I own one gold necklace (lol). Unfortunately, the appropriate procedure had not been followed and so the receipt I was given for the work had no proof of length that I could rely on. I then had to call my mum to see if she had the receipt for the original purchase to prove the length of chain. When she called the shop to discuss this she was once again subjected to a rude member of staff who even tried to suggest that I was lying to my mum! In the end it seemed easier just to ask the shop to remove the 6 inches of chain so that I could at least have a chain that was the same length as the one I handed in - they were even going to charge me for this! The whole experience was terrible and I would NEVER TRUST them to fix any jewellery of mine in the future. I was made to feel as though I was stupid and was not treated like a paying customer. Very thankful that this was not sentimental, fortunately I had removed the charms that were. It is disappointing that when trying to support a local business I was treated so poorly.

Beautiful pieces and great customer service. They were lovely and I bought a gorgeous watch from them. Would recommend! It is good quality and so far very durable.

Came a few months back to get a very special ring made smaller and the emeralds re-set. Such a great experience after it only took a few days to get back to me with a quote after looking at the ring and I am so pleased with the results!

Went in to get a custom engraving on a signet ring. Extremely helpful and friendly staff, honest about what they can deliver on and accommodating from initial designs to final engraving (which all happened in little over a week!). Louise is a very talented engraver, thoroughly recommend.

This lovely little shop had a ring in a style that I had been looking for for a longtime. Unfortunately, the size I needed was unavailable but, after enquiries and several calls from the shop the very helpful staff arranged for resizing and posted it to me very quickly, when (a few weeks later) I was able to pay for it.
