My Dad and I had a fantastic weekend making our own kitchen knives. Ben really knows his stuff and is a great teacher, he was always on hand to help with any element but also gave us space. At the end, even though we’d never done anything like this before we came away with two kitchen knives that felt completely handmade by us. My friend and I had the most amazing two day knife making course with Ben this week. Ben was the most amazing teacher, going over each step carefully but allowing us to perform every single aspect of the process so the knife from start to finish was almost entirely of our own hands. Because the group numbers are so small, Ben gives you the attention you need to make the best knife possible. On top of that, he gives you a quick course on sharpening at the end to keep your new best friend in tip top condition.

I am so proud of the knife I made and all of that is down to Ben's expertise and wonderful mentorship.

Bought this knife a couple of years ago - it is superb & a work of rare beauty but I was making a mess of sharpening it. I popped over to the workshop today and Ben really kindly showed me how to use a stone to sharpen it, he was clear, patient and really engaging teacher. The whole experience was great (interestingly also very de-stressing - I came away much calmer). Knife has just helped me prep supper & is slicing through everything perfectly. Thanks Ben!

What a truly amazing gift this was... The two day course was a birthday present from my wife, but the gift continued to give throughout the entire weekend and far beyond!
Ben's calm and professional teaching, his great craftsmanship, and the challenges of the process of making my own kitchen knife made the two days immensely enjoyable. And not only that, I came out of the experience with a beautiful object that I can be proud of, which I will keep and cherish for as long as live.

I've spent two absolutely amazing days with Ben making my first ever kitchen knife.
The end result has far exceeded my expectations and I've come away with a knife that I am immensely proud of.

Ben is truly an amazing teacher. The course is structured in such a way that I was always in the driving seat, making my idea a reality. Ben however, was always there with instruction, helpful tips and suggestions to help nudge me in the right direction at crucial points in the process or if i needed help, felt overwhelmed. Courses a lot of times tend to be overly structured, where one is only following instructions but is not taking part in the creative process. I felt this was very different in that regard, and truly brought out our own ideas and potential.

All in all, I am extremely proud of what I've managed to achieve during the course. It is one of the most satisfying things I've ever done, and can confidently say I will remember this amazing experience for a long time to come.

Had a fantastic 2 days with Ben last week. Ben is very patient, explains things clearly and then let's you get on with making the knife. Ben guides you well but never takes over. The knife you end up with is solely down to you. Great satisfaction at the end.

I recently attended a weekend knife making course with Ben and had a fantastic time.

I came into this course with some pretty wild and ambitious ideas, with an extremely long knife size and odd shape. With Ben's expert guidance I was able to achieve something very close to what I had in mind.

Now I have little to no experience in knife making but ended up with this beauty, all thanks to Ben's teachings. He was there every step of the journey instructing how to use the various machines in a safe way but always letting me do the actual work. To be honest I'm quite surprised at how well it turned out!

The course is very well structured and Ben is a very good teacher, he's able to balance guidance and letting you get on with the task very well and he's always there if you need to pick his brains on how to solve an issue.

If you want to learn some new skills and enjoy hands on projects then this course is for you, walking away with a kitchen knife you made feels great!
