Thank you for the relaxing facial I had today!
The treatment you get (I had Exilis done) is personalised and unhurried, and you really feel well looked after. Sigita is lovely and amazing at what she does.
Highly recommended.
I wanted to make people aware of the awful experience that I have had with this clinic regarding my laser hair treatment.
I have now had 14 sessions over the past two and a half years still with no results on my legs (it should take 6 sessions). This has been over the course of almost 3 years now.
I recently discovered that the reason for this was because they put me on a low setting in order to reduce effectiveness of the laser, prolonging my treatment and therefore increasing the cost of the treatment. I was told this by the therapist when she was complaining about her colleagues.
The get out of “there’s no guarantees” was a way to continue my treatment without my knowledge that it was not being administered properly with no culpability if it didn't work. When voicing on multiple occasions my concerns they would make suggestions such as "maybe have a hormone test" and did not address the real issue.
I have now spent hours of my time and £3138 on a treatment. They are aware that I am only a year out of studying and that this was a big consideration and investment for me. It seems that the clinic is happy to take this amount of money off customers with no conscience or sense of responsibility.
I consulted a therapist with 40 years experience who has said that given my skin is pale and my hair dark I should have seen 60-70% hair reduction in 6 sessions and was extremely shocked that I had had 14 sessions.
They also continued to take my direct debit despite me asking them to pause it twice during the pandemic when the clinic was closed.
After the first lot of sessions they also told me that they'd give me a special 40% discount since the first sessions hadn't worked. I then went on their website to find that this was available to everyone.
Their customer care has been extremely poor and I have received a number of unpleasant and aggressive emails from their manager since making a complaint.
The therapist I had would frequently spend time on her phone during sessions, would talk all through the treatment and didn't concentrate on what she was doing. At the time I trusted that she was doing her job but I can see in hindsight that I should have been more discerning. She also complained about her colleagues to me during the treatment and told me about her formal warning which I found deeply uncomfortable.
After making a complaint I went in again for another session. When logging the new treatment into the file the receptionist thought it was appropriate to joke that I'd be needing a new file because it was so large. I could hear laughter from the manager's office at the comment.
Having shared my experience on Nextdoor.com a few people got back saying that they'd had similar experiences at the clinic where treatments hadn't worked first time round and they'd had to pay for an additional treatment.
What's more, having further researched into how this could have happened it seems that there is a real absence in the UK of regulations for aesthetics companies. What’s alarming is that really anyone can go for a training course and there is a lack of legal framework of standards, giving clinics such as this the freedom to take such liberties.
I am also unable to find any larger governing body that the clinic is part of. When requesting this information they refused my request for this information, sending another unpleasant email.
I am also doubtful of the validity of the positive Google reviews here, which when initially looking to get the treatment done led me to the clinic. I would recommend anyone looking into getting this treatment to go beyond Google reviews and get a real recommendation from a previous customer.
You put a lot of trust in a clinic with a treatment like this. It is a shame that that trust has been exploited.
I think I need a little top up on my arms but everywhere else seems to have held the results, pity I haven't had as many beach holidays - due to COVID.
I was told the laser is changing/ upgrading so have booked this in for 6 weeks time will be interesting to see how their new Soprano "titanium" works differently from the old Soprano
