St Albans Launderette

Dirty, crowded, detergent dispensing machines out of service. The woman working when I was there was using half the machines so I left with my wet laundry. Maybe they do a good laundry service, but if you are looking to do your own laundry with their machines, you are not a priority, and they will let you know. Thank goodness I haven't got to use a laundrette often. If and when I do have to again, I will not go to this place.

The place is ways clean; the lady working there is aways friendly although she only works until 1. I only use the place for drying so can't comment on other facilities. They have a mix of lager and smaller dryers. Which is great for large loads. Parking out side is free but can get busy at times because of the local shops, you will usually get a space if your patient.

I use this launderette quite a lot for washing larger items and also for drying. I have always been able to access a machine without waiting. I don't use the service wash so cannot comment on that, and I also bring my own detergent. The lady that works in there is excellent :- she is very knowledgable hardworking, helpful and personable.

I was glad to discover this place after my washing machine broke down so needed a place to do washing for the week while I waited for a repair.

The place is clean as are the machines which give a good wash as you'd expect from a commercial laundrette.

There are 3 sizes of washing machines which cost £5, £6, and £7, and a wash takes 30 minutes, 45 minutes, and 50 minutes respectively. You'll need £1 coins to operate the machines.

There's also a detergent dispenser which costs 50p but I took my own powder so can't comment on how much that'll buy you or the quality.

I can't comment on the dryers as I didn't use them.

I have dropped a star because £5 is probably more expensive than I'd have expected but maybe larger machines are better value. Also the two times I visited the place was unattended and someone had a problem with the detergent dispenser, but there was no one around to assist.

I've only been there twice when my washing machine was broken and I had no problems with this place. The machines work and do a great job. Be careful though and bring your change with you for the machines because when I visited the place was unattended and I needed to go to a nearby Tesco to get some change.

Very clean, very helpful staff. Clear instructions on the machines. The timing if the service clear. So able to arrive, do the job and get away without any bother.

Great, will use again.

Firstly I've used this place for years and never had a problem however recently I've noticed that it is staffed very irregularly and even worse
more washing machines are out of use. I left a bag in error 2 weeks ago twice I've been back to collect and no one is there and phones remain unanswered.
