We can only thank Tayntons, especially Caroline Gavin, for how they handled our house sale. Extremely professional throughout and excellent at communicating with us. We always felt like we were kept in the loop even when the purchasers solicitors we being pernickety. Often Caroline sent emails using professional language (because she has to) but was only too happy to talk me through each step in more basic language. We would highly recommend Tayntons and especially Caroline.

We were incredibly disappointed with the service provided by Tayntons.

At the start of the process we made it clear that we wanted to move swiftly through the sale and with no chain we expected a simple procedure. In emails from early July to our mortgage brokers, Tayntons committed to a timeline of intended completion by end of July. To be completing in late September was incredibly disappointing.

Poor and inaccurate communication was a constant theme of our experience with Tayntons. Our solicitor was completely inaccessible, with communication non-existent. She even went on leave for ten days without informing us who was taking over our case and this was not resolved until a week later, following relentless chasing and escalation to the managing partner. The lack of care and attention to the details of our case has caused us significant concern and undue stress, with errors such as incorrect bank details, names, email addresses and invoice amounts found at every step of the process. Worryingly, if we had not identified these mistakes through our own due diligence, they would have caused further delay and expense to ourselves, including missing out on our first time buyers stamp duty tax relief.

We do not believe that Tayntons met the terms of the contract set out to us when we initially decided to contract with them for the purchasing of our property. We chose Tayntons based on their reputation as a firm who supported their clients throughout the challenging legal process, and have been left incredibly letdown. When we tried to make a complaint during this process, we did not receive a call back or any guidance on their complaints procedure - this felt a perfect reflection of our entire experience! We would not recommend Tayntons.

I have used Tayntons twice now and have been happy and impressed with the service both times. Claire, Amie and Harriet were always friendly and helpful. I would happily use them again. Thanks team :)
