Jo and Claire have both been excellent dealing with the sale and purchase of our properties. For the purchase of our new home they both worked tirelessly to push this through as quickly as possible, we were staying in a serviced apartment therefore we wanted to avoid additional costs.
I cannot recommend this practice enough, they provided an excellent service, keeping us informed at all times along the way.

Nicky Cummins at Melia Mumford has been an absolute star with helping us with our sale and purchase. After 2 lost properties we finally found and moved in record time (8 weeks) into our new home, not without some challenges on the way! Nicky remained calm and helped us through the whole process, she is a credit to her industry and I cannot recommend her enough, we'll certainly use her again if we are brave enough to move again.

Pretty poor. Used many solicitors in the past for various property purchases - were recommended to use Melia Mumford via our estate agents for a recent purchase. Turns out that they never respond to emails, even the estate agents found it hard to get updates on progress of things - phone constantly goes to answer phone - basically zero communication at all. Would not recommend.

Terrible experience selling my property through Melia Mumford. I was placed with them when I signed up with Lifetime Legal. Interestingly, Lifetime Legal and Romans estate agents get almost £1000 in finders fees. My sale took over six months to complete. No chain, first time buyer and fairly straight forward. Finally completed on the same day that the buyers mortgage offer was due to expire. Needlessly stressful. I had to bypass my solicitor, obtain management packs myself, and send them to the estate agent to forward to the buyers solicitor. (A Fire Risk Assessment was not included with the management pack and this did cause delays - not Melia Mumford’s fault). My solicitor was not available to speak on the phone and failed return messages. Emails took forever to answer many were never answered. I was not kept up to date throughout. Melia Mumford only started to respond promptly once I had made a formal complaint. I was given the wrong completion date - emailed late in the evening to say exchange and completion the next day - it did not happen until the day after that. I was told the estate agent gave the wrong date.
Customer service did improve once I had made a formal complaint to the senior partner Alan Tulip. Unfortunately, he failed to follow his own company’s complaints policy - to arrange a meeting to discuss the complaint within 14 days. I had to send multiple messages about my complaint before eventually being offered a reduction in fees. No meeting was ever offered.
I get the feeling that this company are unable to deal with the number of clients they take on. I would certainly not recommend Melia Mumford.
Since posting my complaint I have been given more information about the cause of early delays (buyer changed named solicitor, but stayed with the same firm, in May). If this caused delays I should have been told at the time, or when I made my complaint.

The worst experience ever. Purchased our first property and used Melia Mumford as our solicitors. Do not make the same mistake! Extremely unprofessional throughout, rude, 0 communication on the process and status and always complaining about being 'understaffed'. We were close to losing out on a property due to the teams level of incompetence. We had to drive down there twice (2 hours drive) in order to chase them to complete their work since they were declining all phone lines and taking weeks to respond to our emails checking in on the status, we were greeted with shock and disappointment each time and the solicitor used a threatening tone each time. They also gave our estate agents and sellers solicitors an extremely hard time. Very unpleasant experience making the tough process of buying a house, even tougher!

FYI property fell through. Thanks for nothing Melia Mumford

Helped us with our house purchase at a a very difficult time (budget chaos, pending recession, end of gov. Mortgage scheme etc) and Nicky and her team did amazingly well. Always a step ahead and zero delay in response. Highly recommended.
