Holley & Steer

I sold my property through Holley & Steer so decided to use them for the purchase of my new property. Everything went reasonably well until after the completion when I had a few problems with my new property. At this point I tried contacting Barbara Cromey who managed my purchase and after numerous attempts to contact her by phone I gave up after receiving no reply. Obviously she had been paid and lost all interest.

Great solicitors. Barbara and Charlotte were excellent and helped me all the way to buying my first home.

Any questions we had they were always so quick to answer. Buying a house in such a short amount of time was challenging but Barbara did it. Thank you.

I contacted them on Monday about whether I needed probate to transfer a jointly owned property on death to the survivor. On Tuesday I received an email confirming that the property was owned as joint tenants so probate wasn't needed and that they had already transferred it to the surviving owner. That's one thing less to worry about. Thanks.

When it came to buying my first home, I was told many times by friends and family that the worst part of the entire process is solicitors. A friend of mine who has worked in property made a recommendation for Holley and Steer and my experience has been above and beyond what I expected, most significantly the speed that my queries are dealt with. From what I've been told, this level of service is unheard of. Buying a home is one of the most stressful things you'll ever do, and a lot of it is beyond our control, but hiring an excellent solicitor is something you do get to decide. Have recommended Holley and Steer to friends multiple times.

We used Holley and Steer for our conveyancing for our recent house sale. I cannot recommend them enough. Barbara was extremely prompt with the never ending questions from our buyers solicitors (Merryweather) and she was extremely patient with them. She kept me informed and was able to deal with problems extremely quickly and professionally despite a tight deadline. Due to the government tax break for house buyers in 2021 the company was extremely busy and met the demand by working Saturdays and late evenings (unlike Merryweather solicitors who's secretary was away on holiday for a week and thus nothing got done for a while!!!). I used Thomas Murray from the Wills& Probate. My circumstances were particularly unusual. Thomas was so supportive I honestly do not know how I would or even if I would've got through it all.
