We recently used Cuff and Gough for buying and selling. They were brilliant and did all the searches etc in a timely manner. There were delays due to the bottom of the chain but Cuff and Gough did all they can. Ashleigh and Debbie were easily contactable and always called back same day. A special thank you to Molly Goldrick who was covering for Ashleigh during the week of exchange and completion. Dates- wise it was touch and go with our mortgage due to expire and other issues that would have affected the chain. Molly, however, “pulled it out of the bag”’ and along with our estate agent, made it happen. Molly kept us updated every step of the way in those stressful few days.

Having not bought a property for many years, I was concerned that I would find the whole process overwhelming. However, this has not been the case with a smooth, easy transaction all the way through, only because of their experience and professionalism. If I could rate lower than 1 star I would. Communication = poor, respect/courtesy = zero, professionalism = non-existent.

A few examples of how Cough and Gough handled our purchase:
- Got the address wrong of our purchase property on more than one occasion, despite repeated corrections;
- Could not get my Surname correct on the Stamp Duty Form;
- When we asked them to explain why it was necessary for us to pay for some insurance and instead of explaining they threatened to withdraw from our case in a most irrational manner;
- We visited their office on an arranged appointment but were made to wait over two hours because “it was a Friday”

The amount of mistakes they made on almost every form was frankly embarrassing and came across as they couldn’t care about our business at all.
I could never recommend this solicitor from our experience.

Excellent experience with this firm, Emma Kilpin dealt with my sale and purchase to hit the original deadline for Stamp duty . This was done with speed and ease via email for most documents. Approachable friendly lady and firm. Calls were returned in a timely manner if I needed to ask a question. Questions were answered precisely in plain english so I understood the sometimes complicated legal "jargon"!

Would highly recommend for a sale/purchase and or both.
