Great place for children and adults. Majority of the staff is very friendly. Forgot that Chinese former teacher name but she is firm but fair as she dealt with many problems smoothly. Had a number of conversation with many of the staff but she is the only open-minded in the whole team. Well done.

Terrible opening times. And the floor that is meant for ''silent study' is never actually silent because the museum is located on that floor (doesn't make sense at all). Not an ideal location for studying.

Lovely library. Lots of space to sit down and read, study etc. Helpful staff.

Unfortunately the opening hours aren't the best, but this is a problem with funding and not the library itself.

EDIT: Also there should be stricter rules on bringing in young children, especially those who are too young to even read...

I am giving a low rating based on location only and lack of forward planning in its accessibility. Do you remember when the library was by the council offices along Elstree way. There was plenty of parking, not only within the library area but also if you don't mind paying a small sum, the big car park around the back of the library. So here we are now, in the middle of the high street with if your lucky two spaces, not dedicated to the library but free, so anybody shopping can park there. There is also no area for dropping off, apart from just stopping in the narrow service road, while sometimes impatient drivers come up behind tooting their horns while looking bemused trying to figure out why on earth is someone being dropped off here and holding up their ever so busy day. Of course non drivers (students) are not fussed about this at all but I wonder how many elderly folks that can not walk far from their car or disabled car drivers or mums to be or mums with toddlers now have to find another library to visit because parking in the boulevard/tesco/multi story and any other car park is just simply to far to walk from. All this is obviously to late to think about now as the library has so tightly been squeezed in, there is no room for any alteration. Planners..huh!

A very nice place to be. Good opening times and knowledgeable employees. The museum is also a nice touch with a cool tube surprise, check it out. It's worth it.

what kind of library has nowhere to charge your phone ?? plus its meant to be a designated warm space, again, with nowhere to charge your phone.
