Great cozy spot for drinks and some easy food. Loads of small tables around the living room area and a cool small spot around the music stage to stand or sit (book a table in advance). They put a great lineup of local artists for live jams too. Might be one of your new fav spots if you go.

Went there tonight for dancing to the live band. The band Arifa’s Reefers was excellent and food was great too. I had miso roasted aubergine which was delicious. Will definitely go again.

Guy who worked behind the bar was really nice but I paid £13.50 for something I ordered as a salad with a vegan Pattie as protein.

Avoid. This place used to have a chilled vibe, but our latest visit left us baffled by a member of staff who prowled around each table agressively telling people to order drinks or leave, and a second staff member who told us off for not clearing our own table, after we had expressly decided not to as we assumed the prowling table man must serve some purpose other than being agressive!

I know it must be hard being on the main drag where everyone needs to use the toilet or sit and eat somewhere, but don't create an atmosphere that puts off genuine bar customers.

Truly awful experience for a jazz event starting from 8pm.

Firstly, we had an incredibly rude bar staff who informed us that our table of 4 required 2 more people to join on the end. Fine, we were asked to move up. As we were about to, he said to us “I’m not going to tell you again”. Didn’t appreciate the sass when we had to pay for this front table. We weren’t resisting, we did move up and our new additions were lovely people.

Secondly, when the band didn’t show up, no one told us why. We were sitting at a front table eating food we had to order as part of getting a front table. No jazz band, just music playing over speakers wondering what had happened. An empty cavernous space, it was not the gig I predicted considering it was a 30th birthday gift for someone.

Then around 10pm a random band starts (not the jazz band we thought we were going to see). They were good, from what I could hear. I couldn’t see anything as those who had paid to stand ended up surrounding our table. The staff said “there is nothing we can do”. Couldn’t see a thing.

This place used to be great and I have fond memories of jazz here. It’s a shame the staff were so rude.

Unacceptable management and bad quality service. After having paid the £10 fee, we went in seeing that every single table is reserved for others. We asked the lady why she didn’t let us know before we paid the ticket and she played it dumb and told us to stand up. We stood up having our minds on finding a table from a reservation that didn’t make it on time. This caused us so much anxiety and we couldn’t even properly enjoy our drinks. It was rude not letting us know of what the situation would be in advance. Then the other thing was the bad time management. The jazz show was supposed to start at 8pm and until 8:50pm they were having sound checks and annoying repeating sounds. Though recommended by a friend, it didn’t meet our expectations and we left in the first hour.

Zero stars! Avoid this place.
I booked it long time ago to make sure that all is perfect as this was my partner's Birthday gift. What a total disappointment and disaster. The website does not mirror what you will experience in real life! No proper menu so really this is not food place at all! The band which was showing on the website under each date does not even exist! When we came all was quite and none was there. As there was no food options to choose from we went to eat elsewhere but came back after an hour as we were informed that the band will play till 23:00pm. Guess what! When we came back the place was dead and when I asked where is the band, bartender replied that there isn't any and all groups are cancelled till the end of December! Do not believe their website. I sent several emails to make sure that we will have perfect evening with dinner and jazz and it turned out to be disaster! Zero customer service or any sort of communication! They ask you to be on time as you may lose the table!!? Seriously, we were the only once there! Avoid!. It was big disappointment and I am glad I did not invite more friends over as this turned out to be a joke!

Found this place whilst looking for a place to enjoy live jazz. It lives up to its name - the interior mimics a living room save that this one has a bar, kitchen, band stand and space for fun on night out. Chilled setting. Enjoyed listening to Mark Kavuma and his crew doing their stuff.
