I think the results on Google are somewhat skewed by the (albeit very unfortunate) bad experiences people seem to have had plus the fact that people are more likely to leave a bad review than a positive one (because they are upset).
All I can say is that my experience has been very positive - admittedly all I needed was to see a Nurse rather than trying to see a Doctor but it all worked seamlessly and I received the care I needed.
Maybe my experience would be different if I had an urgent need and had to call at peak time, but I think it is important to leave feedback when the experience is positive for a sense of balance

Can not fault them at all. When I've needed an appointment they have organised it quickly if not the same day and always made time to make a call in between to check up on things.

My son says the only criticism he can find is the doctor is too happy first thing in the morning and that cant be normal. 🤣

I don’t understand the negative reviews about Oaklands, my wife and I have been there for 3 and a half years, we’ve never had an issue getting an appointment or having a phone consultation.
All staff, Doctors, nurses, receptionist etc are all very knowledgeable and do an excellent job in our opinion, we would recommend Oaklands to anyone who asks.

Nearly a month waiting for an appointment regarding a life-changing diagnoses which was very impersonally communicated to me over text message rather than by an actual human being and I was left with the fallout of the diagnosis on my own.
Eventually was given a phone call “appointment” (no time given) to discuss the results and treatment but that never transpired and no communication to explain why. It’s not acceptable

At 11-15 am Thursday,I met a lady just come from this surgery. She had a damaged leg,with an abscess and severe back problems. She had struggled to this place to get an appointment. She needs the abscess sorted so she can have a knee replacement. The usual story, “receptionist “ sent her away without seeing a doctor with “ someone will ring you “.
When, why? What a heartless bunch. I helped her part of her way home,very depressed...........

Absolutely useless in every sense. If you're on the fence on whether to register with Oaklands, don't. You'll get wrong advice from reception, you won't get a doctor's appointment, your prescriptions will be messed up (if you manage to get that far) and you'll also be prescribed medicine you're allergic to.

I think the negative reviews are very harsh. I 've been registered here for 5 years and haven't had cause to complain. It is pretty similar to other large practices in terms of getting appointments: I think there are problems everywhere. But the online advice/triage thing seems to work quite well, and everyone has always been friendly and pleasant.

I've been with this surgery for about 6 years. Luckily I've not had to use their services much but whenever I have needed it, I've always had an appointment straight away. They were excellent through my pregnancy, very efficient and great process. Automatically registered my daughter so no faffing paperwork. Very friendly staff too.
