I used to rate this practice really highly and even boast to my friends and family how lucky I was to be registered with them, but recently (since CoVID) I have been less impressed. The practice only offers initial consultations over the phone (why?? as far as I can see the rest of the world is doing their best to go back to normal), so you would think there'd be more availability for appointments, but when I try to book over the NHS app there is systematically a wait of one month or longer. It's scary to think that a potentially serious condition could go undetected for lack of appointments in a reasonable timeframe.

Very poor service , I’m looking for another doctors surgery. All through covid and after including now there are some receptstaff that are rude as hell and think they can get away with it, there is a young girl at reception that is completely rude and disrespectful, clearly has attitude when she talks to me and other Patients. Due to some reception staff this surgery is going down hill fast. I have been a patient for years now and I absolutely dread calling the surgery.

I’m so grateful to this GP surgery. They’ve been fantastic when our kids have been poorly and more recent the receptionists have directed me to the best care. Wonderful care from receptionists right through to the GPs.

I have to say that i have read many reviews here about rude staff etc and i couldn't disagree more ! Both times i have called up recently the receptionists/triage staff have been amazing, so unbelievably friendly, respectful and efficient. I wish i knew the name of the man who i spoke to on the phone when i called up the other day but he is a credit to the NHS. As I am suffering some heart complications his friendly manner put me at ease straight away so I can't thank him enough ! In these pressing times on the NHS i would be satisfied with efficiency alone but these people go the extra mile to be kind and caring which although is not hard, means a lot when you are not well so thank you!

I’ve been with this practice since I was born. Throughout the years there have been some amazing GP’s most of which have left but the care & service has really gone down hill. I appreciate the NHS is under immense pressure but this does not excuse lack of care for patients & rudeness from the reception staff & GP’s. There are a few receptionist & GP’s who are still working at the surgery who are always amazing but I have witnessed some really abrupt behaviour. I’m also baffled by the mask rule & St. John’s way appears to be one of the very few places that still require masks to be worn. When seeing a GP & discussing personal matters, you at least want to be able to see their face. Especially if you’re all triple vaccinated! I must say this surgery has really gone down hill since covid & that’s a real shame, because like I say I have been attending the surgery since 1986.

The reception staff take an exception to the stereotype and are professional and empathetic. This surgery is a fantastic example of well trained allied professionals.

This is the best GP practice I have ever used. The staff are always helpful and the GP’s committed and supportive. They are great for the whole family - and have supported us through the highs and lows of our children growing up. It is great to have such a dedicated practice and people. Thank St John’s!!!

Not the most helpful place. They ask the same routine questions offer no answers or solutions and leave you to deal with your own sickness or injuries till they become much worse.
