As a patient here who has been able to do a runner from staff twice this week the second one is now as I only wanted to go to asda a replace clothes that was stolen from me in the ward. The place is filthy and the staff are just ridiculous. Never in my life have i had such a bad experience in a mental health ward. They have no control of the patients what so ever. I have seen a mouse twice in the last week run down our corridor. They do not get involved with patients unless there is a problem. Other than that they just stay in the office. I feel like my mental state has gotten worse since my admission 8 days ago. I feel more suicidal on this ward than I did at home alone. The staff on pond ward need to visit lakeside and see how things should really be done. I advise everyone to try avoid here if you need an admission as the place is out of control. Sincerely, janinne Kerrigan.

I'm currently a patient on this ward. I can say that there's several issues here. Unless your on 1 to 1 your treated completely differently. I've witnessed staff speaking about patient's and laughing. Staff telling there 1 to 1 patient confidential things about others. If you genuinely are struggling I would advise not to ask for anything I've been here nearly 2 weeks and when I ask for something I don't get it so now I've given up asking and suffering in silence instead. I can honestly say that my mental health feels worst now than it ever has. I feel so judged here by the way I look that staff just ignore me. Good luck to anyone coming onto pond ward. Enjoy your stay!

I am now editing my review. The initial experience was really bad due to some rude staff members, miscommunication and lack of transparency. You can only get hold of the doctors once a week for meetings if that. You can request call backs, however, thye don't always respond. I'd advise you monitor your relatives health and advise the nurses/doctors of what you observe. You need to be an active member of the health care team to get the treatment your relative needs as they are just unable to provide due to lack of communication within the team and lack of training. You tend to see new faces quite often and those people tend to have little knowledge of patients history within the ward.

horrible people and disgusting atmosphere. this is an environment where abusers get to legally hurt people and get PAID for it. restrained and sedated for standing up for herself. assaulted and humiliated. left with bruises from restraints and being thrown around. no patient privacy and the nurses are sick and make fun of their patients. any kind people that start work there quit within the month, they can’t stomach it. kept her additional days just so that they could get their $3k per day and continue to traumatize an individual who needed help. incredibly messed up, if your loved one is going to be sent there you need to get them out NOW.

Had an appointment here. After arriving I found out that the doctor we came to see was on annual leave! Absolutely outrageous that no one contacted me. I would not recommend coming to this clinic for an appointment

This Hospital has really poor quality of service. Very disrespectful staff, lack of communication and professionalism. They have no sympathy for emergency care for patients who are really has serious health problems and symptoms of infection and pain. They are very careless and rude . There are no support from anyone. Receptionist not available on the desk or very helpful. This is what they want no one should attend to A&E so text we pay they can get doing nothing 😰😡

They brought my daughter back from a very dark place within 6 weeks, still a small way to go but I am eternally grateful to al Doctors and carers. You have to be a special person to do this kind of work. Seen the other reviews but my experience is very positive, thought I had lost her.

An addition to my review - if you have a relative or loved one that has a mental condition, medication is key. My daughter came back to me briefly but decided nothing was wrong so threw her medication away. That’s the biggest self destructive part about schizophrenia in whatever form it lands at your door, the patient thinks they’re fine it’s the rest of society that’s not well.

The mental health services are completely underfunded. People with mental health problems are not being taken care of. There was a junior nurse laughing at a woman who was having a breakdown and screaming. I understand it’s a lot to deal with but if you sign up to do this job you can’t treat people like that. Rooms are not cleaned between visits, beds are not made, it’s such an awful place and it’s where we are leaving our most vulnerable people. There are also some great staff who are trying their best and completely overworked and under appreciated however I don’t think the public would really believe the level of care we give those who often don’t have a voice
