The Oaks Medical Centre

I've been going here for years and never had any problems. The reception staff have to send you to a pharmacy instead of seeing a doctor sometimes because the NHS isn't being funded correctly. In my opinion if you have a common cold you shouldn't be booking a doctor's appointment, but unfortunately some people still try.

How do you book someone for a 7am appointment when you know you're closed. Even on a working day. Avoid at all costs. I was booked in for 7am and there was no one here. Having people wait outside when you can't provide a service.

I moved into the area a year ago and I cannot rate these guys high enough Unfortunately I have had reason to use them quite often and they are all brilliant Pro-active friendly and always call you back I have had years of being with a surgery who don’t care! We are very lucky to have such a professional team looking after us

Brilliant GP surgery - reception staff are always so friendly and accommodating. All the clinicians I have ever seen have been professional and personable and always reassuring. Easy access to appointments and prompt management. Thank you so much and keep up the great work!

Excellent practice. I needed an urgent appointment for my toddler and Dr Smith phoned me back promptly and then saw him an hour later. She was wonderful with my son. Amazing service, especially knowing how stretched the NHS is at the moment. Thank you!

Best GP I've ever had. Some of the referrals take forever but that's usually because QMC is busy. Always had a helpful experience at this GP.

Great surgery, throughout covid I’ve always managed to either get a call from the dr and/or be seen if needed that day. Lovely staff and I feel like my whole family is well looked after there.

I have been with this practice since 1963 that is until today! My husband requested an appointment to see a Doctor he was told he could see a nurse in two weeks, he explained he felt ill but was told he could still see a nurse in two weeks, I rang back and said it was urgent and the receptionist said Dr Smith would ring him, she rang and said he was okay and it would wait for two weeks! The end result was he had a stroke two days later that was on April 1st . You would think this would have frighten the Doctor after being so neglectful but no the same thing happened 8 weeks later and he had another mini stroke! The practice is using Covid to make life easy for themselves, but when someone has high blood pressure a face to face should be done! The receptionists need to realise they are there to help the patient not act like they work for passport control at East midlands airport!
