Hopeless on so many levels, register somewhere else if you have a choice. After being prescribed two medications that absolutely cannot be taken together last year and spending a substantial amount of time on the phone trying to find out if I could take them (I couldn't- good job the pharmacist is on the ball), I decided that everyone makes mistakes and there was no harm done...luckily.

Unfortunately I've now been quite catastrophically let down by the surgery. I've been to see and speak to various nurses and doctors about feeling tired, excessive thirst, weight loss, and blurred vision etc. Each time I've mentioned that I'm worried about the high blood sugar test result of 12mths or so ago. Each time I was made to feel like I was worrying about nothing , 'bad luck', 'eat bigger portions' and I felt like a hypochondriac.

I got so poorly that I couldn't make it up the stairs (I'm 28 and normally very fit ) and had lost a substantial amount of weight. I did manage to convince the doctor to do more tests (although she was certain my symptoms were a result if not eating enough protein) and was admitted to hospital the next day for 5 days with type 1 diabetes.

A big shock and a lot to get my head around. Not helped by the fact that if the doctor had picked it up on my visit two weeks before I could have avoided a very unpleasant and stressful few days hooked up to machinery in the hospital.

To add to the stress upon phoning the surgery to find out about doctors notes for work and repeat prescription for my new paraphernalia I was told by the receptionist to phone around the hospital wards myself to find out what I needed. No empathy, no answers to my questions, no help.

And to top it off I wasn't allowed to have the email address if the practice manager in order to make a complaint- I have to hand write it and send it by post. I'll get my pigeon out shall I? It's 2017 I can't believe I can't send them an email.

i dont even know how this surgery is even still open! im a 29 year old who is dying because i have terminal cervical cancer. i have SO many stresses yet my worst happens every month because doctors at this surgery cant do there jobs properly!! i feel sorry for the receptionists that have to listen to my complaints and i hope that calls are recorded when i ring! i have to ring up every month to CORRECT doctors on my prescriptions, bearing in mind my tablets have been the same since June last year ('17) when i came out of hospital. Ive even had my oncology specalist doctor aswell as my pallative care nurse and my steroid hormone doctor write in their letters to the doctors about my tablets. i once had to tell the doctor if she were to properly look at my details she would see the doses of my tablets in a letter sent by cheltenham hospital. My problems are the doctors dont prescribe the right doses, ive had wrong tablets and plenty of times they leave tablets out, ive even had problems where the receptionists dont know where my prescriptions are - we waste petrol money going back and forth every month. I think because doctors cause the problems they should deliver my stuff. I am really ill so my partner usually picks up my tablets and sometimes im left without any because by the time he gets home with my wrong tablets its too late for me to ring doctors/for them to sort it out. Ive now had to tell him to check the tablets the pharmacy give and hes had to try and sort things out a lot of times. I have to be so on the ball its a joke! i spent 6 months in hospital and picked up alot, all the doctor has to do is look PROPERLY at the information on screen, print out and sign - its that simple yet they cant seem to do it right. i literally could do their jobs for them. They are so lucky they are not the ones or have family members who have terminal cancer and have to deal with imbecils like them. thankfully lloyds pharmacy now know us well and let me know when doctors send over the wrong stuff. Before i knew i had cancer, i had all the symptoms of cervical cancer yet i got told by one doctor (mentioning no names here!) but he came out with - its only a little back pain. Me and my partner were fuming! Before i had cervical cancer i thought it was like u see on tele, like it got portrayed by the media but my experience has been a thousand times worse!! Something i wouldnt want even my worst enemy to have. I have side effects from all the radiotherapy, chemotherapy, a stent in because of kidney failure, 9 operations since Jan 16 (a year ago) all my ops have had complications - my most recent was nearly bleeding to death after internal radiotherapy and ive had 28 blood transfusions. i dont have much blood flow to my hips especially my right side (same side of where my cancer is!) so i find it difficult to walk and have extreme pain which is why im on so many and such high tablets. Again im on the third round of chemotherapy and i dont just have one lot pumped into me, i have 3 types of chemo and it takes 9 hours in a day which is absolutely knackering and painful! The doctors at this surgery dont help out atal. It flags up on the system that i have cancer yet i could wait hours for a call back. If they treat a cancer patient like this i worry with how they treat other people who arent as bad as me. I have asked to speak to the practice manager before yet they dont do that, the reception doesnt give an email, supposingly u have to write. Really?! in this day and age. Just an excuse to make not many people complain i think, because most people probably wouldnt go to that effort but when im finished with everything this surgery wont even be standing i can promise that! DONT use this surgery your regret it.

By far has become the most rediculus doctors surgery in Gloucester. Been with st James and pavilion for 27 years but will be registering at Gloucester acess centre. First I try to register my pregnant partner as we are 0.8 miles away for the surgery I am politely told unfortunately she is out of catchment area after spend 2 weeks going back and forth pandering to their information request. I then decide that I have been suffering long enough with two injurys so I make a doctors appointment only to be described a joint course of 60 tablets to take, when going back to see another doctor as I didn't think I'd been prescribe the right dose, the doctor took the two prescriptions back in horror and stated I should have never been giving the two prescriptions on the first place. Finally since having to register my partner at the Gloucester acess centre Ive realised how bad both receptionist and the doctors are at pavilion. Gloucester access centre have treated her in the exact way you would except them to deal with someone poorly. The doctors are fantastic and not only can you ring at 8am to get an appointment and actually get one without having to wait for a nurse to ring back to decide if you do need one but you can also be at queue position 10 and above with the acess centre and still get a fast response. Where as it has just taken 15min for pavilion to answer 4 calls. The worst thing is you can be in queue position 4 at pavilion walk into the surgery whilst still in the phone queue ohh what a surprise there stood around talking. Avoid pavilion like the plague and register somewhere else!

Can never get an appointment. When I called up last week I was told to ride out my illness for a week and if it still wasnt gone then to phone up next week, I've called again this week to be told that there are no appointments for a few weeks.
I've also been calling up to get my son booked in for his 1 year immunizations to be told that there is a shortage of nurses and to call back another day. I'll be going to a different surgery if I cant get in this week. It's an absolute joke.
And when you go in there there is never anyone in the waiting room and the staff are stood around talking and drinking tea

Worst!!!!!!!
Tomorrow I'll go straight to another GP. I'll register somewhere else
They don't answer the phone, and if they answer and they don't like that you insist with an appointment, or some informations , they will hang up on you.
If you're going to get an appointment and they don't agree with you they get angry and raise the voice. Let's not forget the reception staff very sarcastic and arrogant.
Why do I pay taxes? Not getting medical treatment?
I've had caesarean surgery, pain, infections, skin problems. And what were they doing? Nothing
I had to pay private doctor because the GP doesn't give you anything.
I've had problems with the baby, it keeps me in the phone, they hang up, or it tells you that they're calling you... And they don't call you back
That's very sad....
There are so many people like "disturbing" them with their problems, when they actually have to chat and drink coffees and teas.

Impossible to obtain appointments. Patronising responses from triage team, who are inconsistent. Definitely feel fobbed off as an old lady. Simply not good enough. A&E here I come?

Have never had a problem getting an appointment when I’ve needed one, whether that be a call back or face to face, reception staff have always come across as helpful and polite.
