Have visited a few times and definitely the hidden gem of ware.
To point out a few faults first: the staff are certainly disorganised and regularly become overwhelmed or disorientated with serving you. Perhaps implementing more structure with the table service system to dedicate one waiter to a table so that you don’t get several different people bringing the wrong food around or forgetting parts of your order.

Other than that! It’s a great lunch and dinner spot.
Excellent flavours and delicious food overall. The choices are great and the menu does seem to change. My favourite thing to get are still tacos, you can’t fault them besides the excess oil, so it’s probably not suitable for those on a diet, but saying that, there’s a sensible selection of salads too.
It tastes authentic and homemade, hard to imitate at home and definitely worth the money, it’s a shame the service lets it down.

Really good food - whole group of us did the brunch and was really good experience, pre ordered prior as well which was handy, 3 course meal and unlimited drinks. I was never without a drink either so really good service. Was sunny so outside seating area was lovely felt like we was abroad! I've been once before and table next to us asked us not to vape so maybe best to have designated smoking areas for outside. Once again food didn't disappoint 👌 highly recommended good Mexican food and cocktails!

Always busy when I go but am seated promptly. Amazing food (burritos & nachos esp), atmosphere and service is always great. Can’t wait for you guys to be even closer with the Hertford branch!

Great little place we discovered by chance because the place we were intending on going to was closed. The atmosphere was good for a midweek lunch. Food was very tasty, great blend of flavours, spices and heat all captured well to give the perfect Mexican dining experience. All ingredients tasted fresh too. Soft drink glasses were a bit small but that is the only less than positive comment I would make. Overall a great lunch and dining experience, would happily recommend to others.

The Mexican is an excellent restaurant. Very high quality tacos, authentic. Service is always good; atmosphere, hygiene, menu all top notch. Bloody Marys have varied from 1st class to just about 2nd, which was a shame that time - but hey, can’t be perfect! Highly recommended, and I don’t say that lightly having been to Mexico 9 times in 5 years during one (marvellous) stint.

We stumbled across this Mexican by accident and decided to step in for lunch. The food was very good quality, the restaurant itself was really nicely presented. The staff were very friendly. Definitely recommended.

Stumbled across The Mexican for a quick cup of coffee. Inviting atmosphere. Will be back to try a meal. Did wait about 10 minutes for our drink order to be served. Staff seemed a bit unorganised.

On a quiet Sunday afternoon we tried out The Mexican for the first time. My wife and I have eaten Mexican food both in Mexico itself and various places in London. It was good to see that the burrito's tortilla was pan fried and the fillings were tasty, the burrito is served as a lonesome fellow with a few limp nachos on the side, plus a small pot of salsa garnish. Food service was reasonably fast but our meals exited from the kitchen across the square then were plonked in the main restaurant before being brought across the square to us some ten minutes later by which time my nachos were cold and mainly soggy. The beer on draft was great and serving staff were attentive at times then seemed distracted by their friends popping in and out for a chat. There needs to be a tighter control on the final product, ensuring it's hot, and how fast it reaches the diner and making sure it's not soggy and cold. Prices are sensible and with improved controls more can be expected from The Mexican.
