A tucked away, small and cosey restaurant with traditional food fayre. The food was ecellent and good value for money. You can take your own wine in (when a small corking charge is made) which is great to know, especially in today's financial climate. Well recommended.

We didn't know what to expect from what we've heard and we were so pleasantly surprised. Entering the small place is like stepping back in time. It's one of those traditional, old fashioned restaurants you can find in Germany or the Netherlands. Quirky, lovingly decorated, spotless clean, you feel welcome and at home straight away. And you get the sense that the food will be fantastic, which it was. You are allowed to bring your own booze for a small charge but the wine menu is good, so there's no need to. The food selection is small, which I prefer, and mouth watering. There is a set menu of three courses, on Sundays it's 5 and it's very reasonably priced. We were a group af people and everything that arrived from starters to puddings was exquisit. It was so delicious in fact, we all savoured every bite. It was also a nice touch that the chef brought out the main courses to us himself. We will definitely come again and we want to try the Sunday lunch. I am sure it will be a treat. What a wonderful place ❤️

We went as a party of 20 and the meal and the service was really very good and all at a very reasonable price. It did take some time to serve us, but given the number of us who were there and the choices available and that it was all obviously cooked fresh it was certainly worth the wait, which although longer than we usually experience in our group didn't detract from the overall experience (there was a group of 4 who came in after us but were served quicker which you'd expect to happen so the wait we had wouldn't be typical for small groups). The staff were very friendly and attentive too plus for an extra £2 corkage each you can take your own drinks though they do serve drinks too if you prefer. The cost for 2 of us including the corkage charges was £54 during the week which given the quality and quantity of the food was exceptional. This restaurant is well worth a visit, you won't be dissapointed.

Food lovely, beautifully presented, excellent price. Waiting staff efficient & very helpfull ( we had party members with food intolerances). Love the corkage option if you bring your own alcohol, but feel it should only be charged for those who are drinking it. Manager has very abrasive manner which I personally did not care for.

A most intimate atmosphere in this beautiful restaurant. I've been frequenting this establishment since it opened many moons ago. It changed hands but the food, service, ambience is still as good. Looking forward to our next special occasion there. Thank you.
